Rattle from front offside of car (182)

The other night my girlfriend's Clio 182 developed a rattle from the front offside of the car (sounds like its to the left of the engine block looking at the car from the front). The noise is the same as you would get if you shook a small stone around in a plastic container. Any ideas??? Haven't driven the car since the noise started and luckily she was 2 mins from home when it did.
