Rear brake locking up - 172 Cup. Ideas?

  Mk1 MX-5 (x3), Westy
Hi gents,

After a bit of rear brake help if poss please!

Was having a few issues with the right rear brake locking last weekend at Blyton... Did it in a straight line and under trail braking. Don't remember the left wheel doing it (either in a straight line or trail braking)...

Brakes have been bled recently and all seemed to go ok (no sticky piston), however the OS (right hand) pad on this side seems to have worn a lot more than the other 3, it's nearly down to half meat now and the rest are still ~80% I would say. Handbrake has always been crap since I had the car. Caliper was off recently and the sliders moved smoothly, but my thoughts are that something is a bit sticky somewhere?

Is there a left-right bias valve on these or just front/rear? Any ideas of where/what I should check next?

Cheers in advance!

Rear brakes don't have sliders, they have a piston that twists in and out.

I reckon you need to either strip it down and look into it, or buy a second hand caliper..

My rear brakes did the same and the sliders had stuck, blasting a load of wd40 under the rubber dust sleeves and freeing them off worked a treat
