rear pads and discs

  ibiza cupra
need to do mine but was wondering where the cheapest place is to get them. look at gsf and with discount they want roughly £160 for the lot (£18.10+vat -discount for the pads, £127.00 +vat for the discs) is that a good price or should i be looking elsewhere.
also the chap there said that he has pads by the following companies. trw, textar, bendix and mintex if he can get some in. which out of these should i go for as they are all the same price.
and also (again) do people who fit the mintex pads, fit the extreme ones as when i told the bloke behind the counter that i wanted them as thats what are already on the car he said that he couldnt understand why people would put the extreme pads on a standard disc. just wanted to know which ones are more commonly used.

Most people dont uprate the rear pads as they do little compared with the fronts. Pete at Auto Nation will be able to sort you out a good price for a set of disks and pads, drop me a pm.

Renault do the OE discs with bearings pressed in and are more than adequate for the rears.

Pads are personal choice really as they do very little. Personally I run Mintex all round.

ill be honest, renault are damn cheap on them rear discs at the moment but there prices do seem to fluxuate from week to week so need to be cute if you get them from them!

ie. could be 120 one week 160 the next if you get my drift!

euro-carparts..2 x rear discs for £20 each I think...then 2 bearings at £19. I re-used my old ABS rings but that was just me.

Pressed the bearings in myself too.

But that can be more hassle for some people.

getting them through work now as we get a 35% discount from renault so they are costing about £64 for the pair with rings and bearings lol. plus free delivery to work so i dont even have to pick them up. just gona get some oe pads from there too if they dont do anything other that work the hand brake.

the perks of being in the motor trade eh lol.

mine still works out cheaper though lol
2 discs with bearings and abs rings = £64 -the hassle or
2x discs = £40
2x bearings = £38 + abs rings if they break = £78 ;)

Get the Renault ones, they are just under £100 + vat, comes with everything you need and while you are at the dealer ask for the Motrio rear pads as well.

Yeah agree with mike...I only did that as, at the time (about 2years ago) that was the cheapest option for me.
