Recaros/182 questions.

Hi,

I am looking for a clio 182 at the moment, I am in no rush to find one so am trying to ascertain which variant is the best for me. Really, I have decided that a FF 182 seems to fit the bill, but I'm wondering whether a CUP with Recaros may be worth a look. I've trawled the forum looking for info but have a couple of questions:S

Was the Recaro seat option ONLY available as an option on the 182 CUP.

If so, what are the interior differences between the FF 182 and 182 CUP besides the rear bench seat and steering wheel?

Now I'm sure all of you guys will the Trophy will sing the praises of the Recaros but really ,are they any better than the FF seats? Certainly all Reacros I have sat in have been great, but my understanding is the FF seats have lumbar support and I'm wondering if anyone out there actually prefers the "standard" seats.

Thanks for any info.

The recaros are much more supportive than standard ones, the standard seats are pretty soft and comfy though.

The doorcards are different.

Recaros available on all 182s as option, FF with recaros will have cup rear bench and doorcards though.

I had a 172FF and now have a Trophy and for me, the Recaros are a huge improvement over the FF seats. Whilst the FF do have adjustable lumber support, I found it woefully inadequate. On long journeys I would get aches in my lower back. The Recaros do not have adjustable lumber support, however they are shaped as such that they fit me better, the lumber area is more "solid" than the FF seats which was soft and springy.

Try to find one with recaros then change the rear bench and door cards to FF ones. Its cheaper than replacing the front seats, which you inevitably will want to do.

very hard to find a 182 with recaros, just get any ff 182 and add cobra misanos , trendlines are £1300 brand new iirc

I got hold of a second hand set of recaros in mint condition. Loads better than the original seats. Look awesome as well. Only complaint from people in the back is that theres less leg room. They can walk.

trendlines look good and are a very slight improvement on the standard seats but compared to other sports recliners like misanos they are cack, the seating position is too high and the side bolsters are too soft to hold you in properly

^^ well said! and a cheaper verison of misanos are daytonas which fit in well with the interior ;)

Recaro over Cobra, anyday!

I love the Trendlines, personally. Although i'd go for Pole Positions, given the right budget.

you obvioulsy dont get any back seat action! :rasp:

hahaha! saying that i wait till i get home! ;)

Had both. The Recaro's are very comfy, but the driving position is too high. And they are an utter rip off at full price. Daytona's aren't as comfy, but the driving position is much better (lower), but they do look very cheap compared to the recaro's (and misano's).
You can get a set of misano's (with leatherette), with subframes for £700ish, the bet option IMO.
I love the Trendline, but they don't lower the driving position enough to make them worthwhile (only 10mm).

Full Fat

It refers to 182's that have been specced with both the Cup Spoiler Pack and Cup Suspension Pack

Amen...Cobra are pap overall imo...
As said, having had both, Trendlines are great seats, but the driving position is still woeful. Misano's are more comfortable, better driving position, about half the price. If the Recaro's were lower, they would still be less comfy than the Misano's.

PS don't lisen to AR Ewing, he's made billions from Texan oilfields, his brother Bobby doesn't rate the Recaro's IIRC.

lol! Plenty! It's the style of the cobra's i don't like, not the brand...

PP's are alot more "Butt holding!" than anything else i've sat in! And best of all, they look std in the car.

knowing what i know now i think the Misano's are the best for the money ( i agree with warren) but as it was a new thing to me to fit some after market seats im still very happy with my daytonas! and for the price you cant fault them! ;) (and there customer service was great)

I recently brought one of only 3 IIRC RB 182 cups with recarros from the factory and agree that they are very comfy, i am only 5,6' so the seating height is perfect for me. My mate had the 172 cup and his seats are just awfull. :)

Driving position is only 10mm lower, hardly noticeable. They are better, just not enough given the money.

I agree completely, i would not have gone out and brought a pair had they not come as standard

lol! Why you bumming about them being low!! I don't see that the driving positions bad at all! It's not Dc5/Caterham position but you get used to it! I think bein low in a clio is just weird! Didn't like it at all.

Imo it's as much about the looks as it is the feel. Pay peanuts and you get monkeys...(cobra) ;)
