Removing hand brake cable from caliper

I am trying to change a rear bake caliper on my 172 and I have got a bit stuck. I have removed the end from the arm but I can't see how the cable comes out of where it goes through the caliper.

I'm sure the caliper should come off the cable, when pulled towards you, if that makes sense..
I've had one refuse and was an absolute pig to get off, but most come off with a little persuasion.

Long pair of pliers or grips, put onto lever on the back of the caliper, twist it towards the outside of the car (putting handbrake on), pull the cable out the slot.
