Renault Oil

Can any of you please tell me what oil a 172 has in the engie as standard? It was just delivered and is low on oil
The manual is in German so i cant find out and i dont want to go mixing fully synthetic and mineral oils together.

Is the rating 5w40? I think i saw that some where amongst the German.

5w40 semi synthetic try the magnetex thats what renault told me

Yes the manual advises 5w40 oil. I use Shell Helix synthetic, but when i called Renault to ask what they will use in the service in my car the guy said he was sure they use 10w40.

I hope not as they will have to empty it out and fill it up again !

Most Renault dealers know feck all I used the Elf 5w40 and thought it was too thin for my liking, proberly just me. So I switched to Redline 10w40. Ive heard bad things about Magnetec on Turbo cars but on a NA car it should be good, something about the oil sticking to the turbo bearing and wearing them out
