Renault Orpington - Any Good???

It's a Whitehouse, just got a 36K service quote - £249, good price but I am always wary of going to a Renault dealers!!! Also, I'm on 35,400 miles, can I have the service done yet, my car needs a bit of TLC!!!!!

I would always ring a few dealers and then get them to beat a quote, because they can always do you a better deal.

I actually know the boss of Whitehouse, so have always taken my cars there. Generally good.

I am in Orpington and just got quoted £680 for the timing belt which is double the price !

I would try somemore specialists,

There is also Whitehouse Renault Sidcup and Whitehouse Renault Dartford which is a pure service centre ASFAIK.

Cheers, any other recommendations, I'm in Lewisham and very busy at the moment so don't really want to have to go too far. Dartford doesn't sound too bad, or Sidcup although the number I've found for them is for Orpington??

I just phoned them again to check this price counted for RS Clios, she phoned back and said it would be £293 extra!!! because the auxillary belt and tensioner would need to be done at 36K!!!

Mike to be honest I bought my car from orpington and everytime something went wrong with it and they had it in it came back with more things wrong! One classic example aswell was the universal joint has busted which I didnt know was that took it to them saying there was lots of play in my steering I get a call later saying they fixed it turns out they didnt in the end i had to go to an independent garage coz the problem was still very apparent they then told me it was the UJ joint that was faulty.
I went back to renault orpington and had to tell them the problem which I had to investigate of my own back, now I think that is bad!

I now use Dartford which are 100 times better IMO been there a few times, servicing, repairs etc and have not had 1 problem or single issue..

Cheers Rob, that's the kind of reply I was after!! Dartford it will be, I want them to sort the knocking noise I get under hard acceleration too so don't want any jackanory!! Would you have the aux belt done too?? Seems a bit steep at another 300 quid!!!

I know of a good mobile renault specialist based in Orpington. Did my cambelt for £300....

Otherwise I've dealt with Dartford, ain't had no hassle.

Try calling R-Sport in Wimbledon.(unsure of number sorry) It'll be worth the drive round. Had my 12k service done for just £138. Renault (Masters of Beckenham) wanted £240!!
