Renault P*ss Me Off!

  182cup/D40/Hornet
Got my car car took into Renault today as the grease in the driveshaft boot decided to escape all over my alloy, hub etc.
I had asked them on the phone when they did the job could they degrease the alloy, disc etc as it was covered.
Invoiced for £25.85 (£15 labour,£3.50x2 clips&vat)for replacing the outer clip,my brother argued the toss but 'there is nothing we can do about it,wear and tear' so he paid them.He rang me to tell me the good news and as you can imagine I wasn't to pleased considering the car is just over 2 year old and 15000 miles on it.The cheeky b*****ds have even charged me for 2 clips as the 'technician' broke the first one trying to get it on!!!
I thought f**k them so I phoned Renault UK and explained the situation to them, they got in touch with the garage who told them the end of the clip was snapped off due to probably something hitting or some s**t that like so Renault UK wouldn't be compensating me any money and as they wern't 'technically minded'I would have to contact the service manager at the garage if I wanted to discuss the matter more in depth, how you can discuss a outer clip in depth I'll never know.
I did have a look under the car before it went in and the clip was still in place and tight but I didn't check the part that joins together which they claim it was.
Picked my car up tonight from my brothers and yes they have cleaned the alloy..from the inside with a f**king jetwash which has resulted in the being sprayed all over the wing, bonnet, bumper and drivers door the useless c**ts.Had a look under and the abs ring is thick in grease (possibly not as thick as the arsehole that did the job)which I would imagine is a safety issue?
So not only do I feel cheated out of the money I'm gonna have to spend time taking the wheel off to clean it properley, and get the grease off the rest off the car!!!! Why don't they do a proper job!!!!
Rant over......I may take pics and write a complaint to RUK not that I think I will get any joy though

Sounds like your having the same kind of experiences with Renault dealerships as I am at the moment. Not really sure how they can call it wear and tear the part obviously is not up to the job.

Your experiences with Renault customers services don't sound good though. I have been on the phone complaining today about a technical problem on my car and I really hope they have somebody they can speak to who does have some technical knowledge.

If you have any other Renault garages around you try them next time.

Go back in yourself and speak to the service manager, its worth a go.

I had a similar problem when they fixed something that should have been covered and they tried to charge me for fitting as they said my suspension was modified and I advised them that renault had modified the knocking suspension not me, they didnt have a clue and backed off in the end.

I had my clip replaced , when i was explaining to the service bloke what the problem was he said " clips and gaters are not coverd , but cv boots/driveshafts are "

I said " put a new driveshaft on it then" it was quickley " on us " then!

I was thinking about going back but it's going to take up my Sat.morning and it's about 30-40 mile round trip to dealer. It's not the money that pisses me off as much as the crap job and attitude they seem to adopt,I keep my car clean and well maintained then you take it into these so called proffesionals and they just don't seem to perform.I would possibly expect this kind of service from a backstreet hovel but from a franchised dealer where you are getting charged top money,no.I've been to 3 different dealers for 3 different things and all 3 seem to piss me off by shafting me or being incompotent.Cleaned car today I jsut hope they had the sense to repack it with grease

I need to get my CV Boot done this weekend.......Can any garage do it? Or do I have to brave the stealers?

Its not that expensive they cna fail with damage form the road I'd just accept the cost the car treatment ok that not right though.

The ABS ring won't matter though for safety etc.
