Renault Specialist Near Cambridge

  Clio 182 FF
Hi all,

First post on here since purchasing my Clio 182 2 weeks ago.

It it has an oil leak from the rocker unfortunately and I'm looking to get it fixed ASAP.

Ive heard this can cost around £400-500 which is a complete killer to me, especially since the belts were done only 800 miles ago at Renault!

So I'm looking for a specialist to carry out the work and not pull my pants down on the price.

Any suggestions chaps?

Cheers,

Ryan

Hi Ryan, yeah its a bit of a shitter that as it's a belt and pulleys off job to remove the cover.

We do it normally for and extra £70 at the time of a belt change. Was the dephaser done? We're in Nottingham and would do this for you for £450 including the dreaded but we'd also replace the belt kits, seals and fixings as I'm confident Renault wouldn't have done these.

Are you 100% sure its the cover seal that's leaking and not something else like a leaky bolt (or eight) or the dephaser solenoid seal?

Hi Mick,

Many thanks for the detailed reply.

Im pretty certain it's not coming from any of the bolts, I'd be more than happy to do the work myself if so.

What's this dephaser solenoid seal you speak of?

Cheers,

Ryan
