renault uk!!!

has anyone else found ren-uk less than helpfull?

Comtacted them on friday with regards to my power problem, outcome - untill the garage replicate the fault there is nothing they can do!!! They tried to explain (or the girl on the customer service desk) about intermitant faults on electrical systems, had to laugh then told them to be quiet as I am an electrical engineer!

So they wont change anything on spec, im totally cheesed off, going to see the garage tomorrow to organise a test drive with the service manager and mechanic.

Seriously considering getting a solicitor involved, any advice?

Whats the problem with you car, most faults that occur on you car are stored in any one of the many computers your vehicle has, get the dealer to connect up the Clip and carry out a test of all computers, most of the time if a fault has occured the clip will show it as a stored fault or a permanet fault.

You do get the odd occasion when you have a fault thats intermittant, nine times out of ten it does not show itself when at the dealer and nothing is stored on the computers.

Be a bit understanding how can anyone find a fault when its not there, you need to provide as much information as possible to help the technician to fix you car.

When does it happen?
Where does it happen?
Are you the only driver of this car? (The car learns the way you drive!)
Does it happen hot or cold?(Its no good driving it to the dealer and not leaving it overnight if it only happens when cold!)
What Speeds does it happen?
What petrol station do you use?(Quality of fuel makes a big difference)

The list goes on but help the dealer to help you.
Let them have it for a couple of days if its a running fault.

You say its a power fault, what do you mean, does the car lack pull ?

Let me know I will try to help PM me.:)

Theyre never helpful. Just log things in file and say your comments have been noted. Ive had the 4k rattle since i got the car, two centre sections, 1 cat and 5 visits later its still not sorted. They said the rattle wasnt there, took the mechanic out last week, and he agreed, its actually quite prominent. Does depend on your dealership as to how helpful they are.

I have a june 03 Cup, and im suffering a major flat spot on the throttle pedal at the first part of its movement. Lookers Renault at Chester have had the car on the computor but say the printouts are fine, and say theyre not allowed to order in any replacement parts to do a "trial and error" fix unless the computor shows a fault. Catch 22.

Im booking the car in for another go, this time for them to have it for 3 days, but if they still cant fix it, I feel the only option will be to reject the car, which will involve an independant engineers report (RAC charge £180 for this- anyone know a cheaper way?) and then my solicitor just to make sure it sticks!

Is yours the same fault, if so we should get in touch with each other.

bunch of T W A T S!

Took them 5 goes to get my spolier right, they originally put a 172 spolier on my CUP, and they didnt notice hahah! WAT!!!!

Then took them 2 goes to get my brake light in the spolier working. And they forgot to connect the water pipe back up again.

Went in yesterday for the sus mounts, rear brake limiter valve, and 4k rattle. Still rattles and thunks like F U C K.

They are basically, utterly useless. Im gonna go to a Renault specialist from now on.f**k the warrranty you never get f**k ALL DONE ON IT ANYWAY
