Renaultsport No.4 Kieran's Blackgold Project

Update

Been busy today, I changed over the suspension so running the Apex springs on the bg and they're really not as bad as everyone rates them. Pictures tomorrow after a clean.

I also managed to change over front drivers seat from the titianum as that one was mint.

I recieved my engine cover and got straight on to it today and sprayed it in BMW sparkling graphite, this colour never fails to amaze me

Yeaa This time I'm going to, well try at least lol

I honestly think they feel about the same from what I remember, I've driven worse cars with harder suspension and than these, I put apex springs on my fabia vrs and they were decent Enough on that too

Looking good mate, just out of interest what paint did you use for manifold and also plastic cover? Is it special heat paint or plastic paint? I'm looking to paint mine and wanna get correct paint, cheers

Well I recently took off the yozza as it got a bit annoying and I'm happy with peaceful driving at the moment.

Looks like the standard 182 wheels are going gloss black with yellow diamonds on the wheels and yellow calipers. Also the cambelt, auxiliary belt and dephaser is being done soon and will be a relief once that's done.

Update finally

well due to being a dad in a few weeks its very slow moving progress unlike all my other projects.

But i have decided im going to have a black and red theme going on. I have thought on gloss black interior parts along with a few other bits but dont want to giveaway it too much untill alot of it is done, but im pretty sure it will look epic :)

I have recently fallen out of love with the car due to the cambelt and dephaser needing to be done but cant until ive saved up the money:(

hopefully a few pictures of some bits i have done tomorrow

Pictures

first up today was painting the calipers, decided with my red and black theme going on they had to go red

there will be more red bits to come to tie it all in

182 "The Black Edition"

Not sure I like it running up the light cluster but it's not that bad tbh. Different.

Wheels don't look very silver in the 2nd from last pic ;)

Black and red is a great working colour combo. The red strip along the spoiler is a little mod that makes a difference :)

What else will be red?

Looks good mate.

I like the gear gaiters above. Just messaged the bloke to see if he will do one with inferno stitching ?

Is it the same colour leather as the 182 ones ?

Sam!

Update

Well yesterday i messaged G172 to place an order on a full set of brakes and by 9.30 this morning i received them, his service cannot be beaten nether his prices.

As you can see i went for all Brembo, HC brembo on the fronts and oem spec brembo pads and same for the rear.

This morning i finally got round to fitting my axel spacers made by Ed on the forum. Went for 15mm ones and then realised with the standard tyres i need a bit of camber so temporally fix i put in a washer to create camber, but still wasnt enough so had to roll the arches a little bit.

I was also meant to be changing the rear discs to brembo ones but when removing the abs ring from the old ones it broke so i ended up having to put back the old ones untill the new abs rings come. I drove to Lakeside this afternoon and the side thats broken didnt sound too good so hoping the rings turn up soon.

The car is looking ROUGH with no splitter and being so dirty but its not worth cleaning it!

A

Are the spacers hard to fit? I was looking at 10mm ones for the rear and probs 15mm hubcentrics for the front.

Car does need a clean but like you said its not worth it with the way the weather has been. Mines the same.

Lets hope those abs rings turn up pronto!

Naaa they're easy mark just make sure you have the right tools, I tried using a t40 torx bit even though its t50 but soon as I went and bought a t50 bit and it was easy!

yea I hope so! I have to use it to commute now so it's annoying

Well the car has decided to be a b**h and the gearbox has decided to start grinding etc so now a new box is on the way along with a new valeo clutch kit and gearbox oil.

On the other hand I recieved the abs rings meaning I finally got round to fitting my new rear discs, loads better.

The splitter is done almost, it will be being fitted again at the weekend, can't wait to see how it looks

Recieved my gearbox, oil and clutch over the last few days, cant wait to get it all on and the car running again!

Also i started on something that i have been meaning to do for a while, the rear insert, diamond and exhaust surrounds are now all sea grey, letting them harden last couple days then will be fitting them

DSC_1051_zps680c8db9.webp

DSC_1050_zpsd38128a8.webp

also done front diamond and the bullets are going sea grey and finally the splitter will be going back on. the car is currently looking so rough, once its all fitted will be a damn good detail

hkh_zpsc6ed6b0f.webp

DSC_1054_zps6359d59b.webp

then lastly its the front grills and fogs that are going gloss black again but will take bumper off this time

Some nice parts being added ! I like the rear spacers, I was tempted to try and get some but holding back for gearbox costs as Ive got the same problem as you.

Do you mind me asking where you got the clutch kit? Euro car parts? or did you find somewhere cheaper?

i see your thread about changing your gearbox, whats yours doing? is it like a grinding of metal when driving?

i got mine from carparts4less i think it was £98 delivered, got it next day aswell
