Sorry for the silly question but what does the ECU upgrade do, and how much are they?

Is this on a 172?

From the guy who made the chip:

it costs £241.99 including VAT P&P

it does:

imporoves drivability

improves mpg by about 10 MPG

improves torque through out the range

eliminates a few flat-spots in the existing ECU.

invalidate your warranty

is not detectable at service

it does not:

give you better braking (joke) however, R-sport are bringing out a complete brake upgrade later in the year.

give you the opportunity to beat Scoobies

give you AWD (4x4)

it does not give you bigger bolx to go around that corner a bit quicker.

and it doesnt make you more attractive to the opposite sex.

Are Renault going to do a proper chip or is this it?

When I took a Cup on a test drive in February the salesman said that his mate who works for Renault HQ was testing a chip for Renault sport and it was pushing nearly 200bhp.

Whether he was talking out of his cheeks or not is another matter.

Err, I thought the whole point of the R-Sport chip was that it DIDNT invalidate the warranty!

Its only been talked about a million and 1 times..............I was led to believe by R sport in London that it didnt invalidate your warranty.........The best person to ask is Frosty....
