RenSport Clio 200 - Dealer says THIS is normal...

Won't name the dealer yet, as things are going to get tasty, but basically - 6 weeks after contacting them - they bothered to finally book the car in. It was booked in for replacement door mouldings (poor paintwork), Intermittant N/S Speaker, Non-locking n/s door handle and non-straight steering cowelling.

Mouldings done... Handle button works but they have frigged up the handle itself (now very loose), Speaker seems fine... BUT - Cowelling...

Words from the Service staff - "The RTE in the workshop says this is perfectly normal - they are all like that"...

As you can see, Light/indicator stalk side is a lot higher than the other side. Strangely enough - I disagree'd and was met by the answer "Well take it back to dealership who's doing the rear bumper paintwork".

Basically, they've fobbed it off and i'm out for blood!

Anyone else had this issue?

Regarding the cowelling, have driven a fair few brand new cars (not renaults mind you) and alot were like this. One that springs to mind was the new fiesta, was completely on the wonk! Although can't comment on whether this is normal on the 200.

Cheers gents, Any pictures will help - Asked also on the RenualtSport forum and it appears to NOT be right - although the supposed RTE at the Dealership says it's normal.

Lazy fecks!

Well, this is my thinking, they either ran out of time and didn't bother letting me know... (Known for it there) or they forgot.

So annoyed too - because the mouldings have been done fine!

Id keep on at them mate. You're forking out enough money for the car, so you should expect a decent level of service.
If they dont pull their finger out, get RUK involved??

Mine isn't like that, but I guess you knew its not right anyway.

Ring RUK, make a formal complaint. Things start happening then.

Basically - I have a catalogue of complaints to make against the dealership - from the very basics of not calling back / being bothered - to this absolute fob off and getting told to take it back to the dealer I bought it from. The "owner" decided he'd try and talk to me like a **** and think I knew nothing about dealers - but when I told him i've worked in two - things changed.

Bunch of complete tools! RUK are 100% going to get involved with this.

Irrelevant really. Dealers have an obligation to Customer Service, and they will only blag you off if you let them. Take it to RUK now as its probably not going to get anywhere with the dealers now, but in future go to the dealers in person and be firm but polite. Ask to speak to the chief numpty (manager whatever) and run through the problems with him.

In the case of your dash, it very easy to compare it another car on site surely?

I know exactly how to handle a dealership - as I know what they do and don't do in the background, had 6+ years working for a couple - they obviously tried to blag it.

Those pictures are perfect, take it they are from the Renault website or similar?

Surely it would be easier to go to any other Clio at the dealers and show the manager the non wonky plastics.

Dont give up. I let my front bumper go and it really annoyed me that i didnt chase it up. All sorted now mind as i had new lights under warranty last week.

So far dealing with renault i have found some dealerships are spot on and will try their hardest to get things done and if they are not right after will do there most to correct things before you leave, but... on the other hand i have also just had the service team member stand there and shrug his shoulders. RUK will be very loyal to the dealerships and will instantly take their side so prepare to get angry but try to keep calm.

Surely it would be easier to go to any other Clio at the dealers and show the manager the non wonky plastics.

That was exactly what I said...

me: "I'll tell you now - it is NOT right - to prove it, wheres the Gordini Clio you have?"

idiot: "Oh thats out - but the head technician said it's the same - they are all like that"

me: "No they are not, you have been clearly told wrong..."

idiot: "If it's so wrong, take it to the dealers you bought it off then - give them the job..."

me: "You are the publics connection to the brand Renault - you exist to deal with warranty issues for them as well as other things, no wonder these other customers are complaining too..."

idiot: "Stop going on about it, your rabbiting on and upsetting me"

me: "This place has been nothing but a disaster from the first time I rang her - where's the dealer principle?"

idiot: "Can you go sit at the end of the showroom now..."

me: "No thanks..."

idiot: "Please go outside then"

me: "Erm, no - I want answers - real ones about me car..."

He then runs off and gets the owner - who had just walked off from the other complaining couple too stating that he isn't interested in their issue - they need to talk to the person they started the issue with.

I got the same crap off him - going on about all the so called "Awards" they had won from Renault. I asked how the hell have you won anything with this attitude towards your customers? He basically kept bullet dodging.

Have you rang RUK customer services? They are really good at sorting out problems such as this.

No mate - Dealer I bought it off is 45 miles away, this one is my nearest - 13 miles away.

It is going to go back to the one I bought it off for a Cup Spoiler, Geometry and rear bumper respray (poo transporter damage job I spotted a week ago). They'll sort out all the issues - but I want RUK to get their teeth into this other one... as they are clearly not fit for purpose...

...first issue was in September when I rang them and asked for a salesman - none available - gave them my number, but nobody rang. All went wrong from there.

Aye - just want it right... just more annoyed the handle is now hanging off pretty much and the column is still wonky. They did a great job with the paint - or should I say the bodyshop did who they use...

Get this too - when it went in I asked if whilst it was at the bodyshop if they could dab a bit of paint on the stonechip on the frony badge panel - the reply was epic...

"Not sure about that - it all depends if they have enough paint left to use for it..." he said it deadly seriously too! Seriously - how do these people continue!?

All in the hands of RUK now - who were a tad horrified to hear it all. Car also booked in with the Dealer I bought it from.

This was sorted... but lots more to happen with the crapness that is POCKLINGTONS in LOUTH...

They said that THIS was normal...

stalks1.jpg

But it goes in to the Place I bought it from and - miraculously...

stalks2.jpg

It comes back as it should be... and the AIR BAG Ring was loose inside too which was regarded as dangerous by the Techy who sorted it.

I received a letter from the dealership too after I complained about them... and I had apparently asked the Manager "unethically" to get the car sorted out as I found it to be at fault - yet they deemed it 100% fit.

I'm more than prepared to take this matter a LOT further than it has up to now... i'm out for blood!

Get copies of the job car off the dealership that sorted the problem and deemed it dangerous. Surely has to be recorded, will be good evidence in your case!

I know bad dealers are common, but it's threads like this that confirm to me I will never buy another Renault. Simples.
