replaced engine in my car, now it won't start/turn over

so,

i replaced the engine in my 172 with a different bottom end. everything is linked back up, battery has 13volts.

turn on the key, all lights come on but when i move the key to fire it up, nothing, not a click or anything.

any pointers?

It won't be the immob, as it will still crank over.

You checked all the earths? Checked the starter solenoids are free from rust/dirt etc?

ok, so checked on the started, the main red wire atached to the start has a constant 12.5v(approx) and the white wire, when in 'start' position gets 12.5v (approx)

does that sound like the starter?
