How much are the standard ones out of interest? Has to be better than £60?

Standard ones are capable of totally stopping the rack moving during normal use when they are in good condition, so I am not sure what difference you expected?

They are pretty awkward TBH, access around the bolts is fairly limited.

Not the end of the world or anything but longer than you think it will considering its just:
loosen one pair of bolts
undo the other pair of bolts
slide out old one,
slide in new one
semi tighten the bolts on the one you have just fitted
undo the loose bolts totally the other end
slide out old one,
slide in new one
do up both sets of bolts

Yeah and the steering is very numb too.

As in the feel and feedback. Because the bushes have play small steering inputs do nothing.

yeah they were, ordered them ages ago, and had the car up for a service so thought "let's have a go" phew....

just thought of something...you brits might have it a liitle easier as the engine is in the same place, just the rack is mirrored.
I had the problem with steeringhousing (part where the wheel connects) hitting the diffhousing......

Yes to both.
They would align it and then the next day you would notice the steering wheel not straight, that sort of thing.

They're usually pretty helpful to be fair, they seem to head over to Dieppe on a weekly basis. These bushes seem to be moulded-teflon/delrin mix at a guess but don't hold me to that. (just don't forget to order x4 like I did by mistake initially...)

Are you retaining std gear shifter too as they offer a replacement alloy/nylon bush kit for that also.

I have that kit too, lovely isn't it, feels absolutely solid, no play at all.

Yup it sure does feel good, the only action mine has seen is me making car noises a moving it in my lock up lol.
