asked them if they would be producing the coilover in 58mm bolt spacing fitment to fit the 182.. as the current .0 16v ones they list only fit the 172...

Hi,

no we dont't. You have to be understand that there are not enough cars on the road to produce.

Best regards

erm surely its not had to simply fit a different set of plates on the bottom of them with diff bolt spacings to produce a whole new product.. its not like they have to do any research and development is it..

When their sales start to dive, then they'll look into it. There are only so many 172s out there.... There are far more 182s out there, which are yet to get coilys fitted - ie people who want, but cannot get them.

Until then, it looks like they're not bothering.

surely more people with 182cups would buy them than some of the s**t cars they list on their site..

maybe if mores of u guys n gals ask about it or come up with a rough figure of the ppl after em it might be worth there while .

also remember some ppl wont wanna invalidate there warenties

biojo.. from everyones comments on here everyone whos modified their cars.. renault have never had a problem with them come warranty time..

ive emailed him about the figures thing.. asked if i get 10 orders would they consider producing it.. afterall its the same unit as the 172 so no research and development is needed.. just the bolt spacing drilling at 58mm instead of 54.

it could be to do with the cost of TUV approval?

/y0z

forgot about that..

but 10 orders for koenigsports at least 6k isnt it.. it wouldnt be hard to change to 58mm spacing and it doesnt cost them much to make a unit.. surely that will cover TUV approval, their overheads etc..

ben, if it comes to it i will.. but rather have them do it themselves as it will invalidate any warranty FK give..

lol. I can't believe the poor responses ^^^

Shame they make decent kit, because with that attitude (i.e handing them sales on a plate!) they don't deserve any orders!

I can well understand there reponse they need to TUV appropve bits ktec don't and since the 182's already out of production and no one knows the exact spacing for the new dampers on the new RS why should they certify parts for a car with a known market?
The cost of certifying bits is massive.

exactly.. the majority of 182's out there have the cup suspension with the 58mm units

they make kits for some very weird cars on their listing that i cant imagien they sold many of!

wonder how many people have rang up ktec asking for 182 coilovers..

oh well, i'll just leave my car standard and save up for a bmw :)

lol. Probably the most sensible idea.

I see you can pick up a 2001 M3 for around £18k now, god that's so tempting!

I thought a 330D ci would be even more expensive? They haven't had the diesel varients around for very long. Damn good choice though, great handling, good looks and plenty of real-world power (aren't they chipped to 400lb/ft?)

yea they around 25k or something but will be alot less miles than the m3 your saying you can get for 18k, wont be as much to insure or run, and will be newer.

i do quite a few miles so a diesel would really be my ideal choice for next car..
