I detest my ring door bell.
No matter what I tweak on the settings, it seems to pick up stupid things and send a notification

But when I get a guy push something through the door and walk up the length of the drive, I get footage of him walking back down drive

Bag of w**k

I’ve got 6 Various types of ring cameras all round our house, you’ll be amazed what your neighbours get up to when you have cameras.

My cheapo Await doorbell cam seems to be dying and the app will no longer let me change the sensitivity/speed settings, so it's no longer catching people walking up to the door until they have been there a few seconds. So thinking of getting a new Ring cam. Had a look on Ring website and the battery powered ones seem to be twice the price of a powered one. Am I right in thinking they are the same camera internals, just one runs off a 12v power supply from inside?

I've gone back to Ring from Eufy.

I found that the battery life on Eufy was crap Vs that of ring, I also prefer the app on ring.

Yeah there's a subscription, but it works and it works well.

We've now got the battery doorbell pro, 2 x spotlight cams, and the full alarm system.

I'm thinking of getting the powered one, with the adaptor, and a chime for £79.99, then the subscription is £4.99 a month. I already pay £30 a year for this camera I have now, so it's not much difference.

i would have recommend Eufy, but we have a bit of an issue with ours, it seems a little hit and miss on who it picks up, my lad seems to be able to walk pas it most of the time without it picking him up, need to have a look at the setting, but the detection area etc seems to be set correctly, and the sensitivity is turn up to almost full.

I believe it's 5v for a normal doorbell mate
