Road angel plus Laser

  Ford Fiesta

If i was to buy a road angel and laser add on for it, I wouldnt be covered for mobile radar is this true?

Also in new Clios will this set up work with the anti UV windscreens, if so how is there a window in the screen somewhere so it will still all mount and not look a mess?

You wont be covered for mobile radar, as with the origin B2.

You may find with a road angel you need to either fit the GPS reciever outside the car or get the very expensive re radiating arial.

Ive got my GPS receiver on the back ledge by the back window for the B2 and have no problem getting a good lock.

well I cant fit the reciever outside the car surely? or is the antenna seperate to the box itself?

Is there plenty room on yours to still mount it in the back and feed the wire to the front?

Ive seen it placed at the top of the screen on the roof of the car!!

I dont know if the its built in or seperate on a Road Angel. I have a B2 and they suggest you put the receiver towards the back of the car, so that comes with a huge long cable.

I have a road angel in a clio 182.

I had to purchase a re radiating arial if I wanted it to work. As I have also a Garmin sat nav it was not that expensive £58.

If you buy from road angel then it will plug into the back of the device. I purchased a seperate arial that has a 2 metre range.

Arial sits on the roof and the mast sits in the middle rear seat headrest.

I have a Road Angel in my 182 and, weird as this sounds, it works better in there than it did in my 172mk2! I dont have a re radiating aerial and i get a signal within seconds of turning the car on. It was always very hit and miss in my 172.

so I dont need a seperate antenna? is this right Nick?

the re radiating antenna how does this work, is it a seperate antenna that is linked to the main unit by wire/ or wireless or is it just a bigger antenna that clips to the base unit? dont really want a piece of plastic stuck to roof of car thats all.

I think the aerial is connected by a wire to the back of the Road Angel and then you place it somewhere it can get a clear signal - roof, parcel shelf etc. As for whether you will need one all i can say is that i was considering getting one when i had my 172 as the signal lock was not always good. It seemed to be based around getting it in the right position on the dashboard underneath the little rectangular bit of the windscreen that is free of the UV tint. However i have not had a single problem with it since I put it in my 182. Sorry i cant be of much more help than that. I totally understand your reasons for not wanting the aerial though - it is expensive and unsightley.
