Robbies's Petrol Blue 182

Hello

I have been on here a couple of years now and last weekend I bought my third Clio.
My previous was a black 172 Ph2 which I had modified abit. This included bilsteins, Pms bits and brembo callipers.

It was @couzens petrol blue previously and am pretty pleased with it so far.

The paintwork is in decent condition apart from the front wing which has some paint peel. The spec is also pretty decent with eibach sport line springs, BTM stainless exhaust and snappy steering wheel.

My plan is to build a supercharged engine so I've kept my black 172 as a donor car which I can build the supercharged engine in and then swap over and once it's all running good as the petrol blue is a daily

I have done a few little bits to clean things up in the week like replace the driver window switch as it was abit temperamental. The wipers were making a squeaking noise which was the linkage not located properly. I also fixed the gear leaver surround as the tabs were broken and when in reverse it poped out.

The list of Things to do so far:

- get the wing painted
-swap the exhaust mount (held together with wood and cable ties)
- fix the heated rear screen as the elements are broken
- there's a slight knocking when pulling away which I believe to be a top mount ( be fixed when I fit my PMS top mounts )
- swap my Powerflex dogbone mount over
- for my parts from my 172 which includes PMS top mounts, bilstein coilovers, brembo callipers

Here's some pictures

One of the most unique and interesting colours applied to any car. Suits the Ph2 Clio particularly well of course!

Yes I agree too, can't seem to get a picture of it either showing the colour how it looks in person

Wow what a lovely car, best colour there is. I have one as my daily too. Funnily enough mine is exactly the same as yours haha. Are you coming to Spring action day on Saturday?

Very nice mate. Really like the idea of going the supercharged route.

Thanks mate yeh hoping to do most of it myself when I comes to it like the engine build and making of brackets and other bits. Got the other car to get it all fitted and running right then can just swap everything over

I just adore this colour. Looks so good in the sun

I agree sort of goes abit golden when the sun catches it I think

I really like that! The wheels suit it perfectly.

Cheers ... And thanks for sorting that error with the first post [emoji1303]

That looks stunning mate

Thanks also think you RB looks very good been keeping up with your thread for abit

At the weekend I had some time to fit the front suspension and brakes that I had on my black 172.
The suspension parts I fitted included bilstein b14 coilovers, Pms solid top mounts and strut brace, Powerflex wishbone bushes, new ball joints and track rod ends

I also fitted my brembo callipers along with the hubs i machined and custom calliper brackets too suit.
Other parts that were also fitted were :
-19mm spacers
- camber bolts
- coilover covers
- goodridge braided lines

Whilst everything was off too I cleaned and painted some bits up. Surprising how filthy things get after just 2 months of being on the old car.

Heres some pictures

Still got loads of bits to do like sort the wheel alignment out and fit:

- rear coilovers
- powerflex dogbone mount
- stub axle spacers
- custom induction setup
- rear braided lines

Has been awhile since I last updated due to holidays and moving out but recently been doing a few fits too the car

I did end up fitting the rear coilovers and induction kit
I also wanted to fit my momo steering wheel that I had in my 172 but due to the 182 having cruise control I was unsure on what I wanted to do about the buttons. I wasn't keen on the plates that you can get because you could see exposed wiring and wanted an 'enclosed housing'

So I started to design one and ended up machining one.

It uses the domed buttons and Got a new loom made
Here is it after being anodised and fitted

Next I fitted a Powerflex exhaust mount as the existing was in a bit of a state

The tyres on the turini's were now on the limit so decided I'd get my OZ F1's painted grey to suit the petrol blue and use them as I already had 2 yoko's with life left on them and was cheaper to get 15"s rather then buying 4 brand new 16"s

They were a Matt black before

Then this weekend I spend a day doing a load more bits on the car
This included putting the OZ's on, paint the rear brakes, fit Powerflex engine mounts and give the whole car a general clean up.
I pulled all the arch liners off and cleared all the mud out from behind.

And also cleaned the seat belts as they were filthy.

And finally gave the car a clean today but the pictures are abit crap due to the sun.

Spotted this a few cars down from us at Silverstone today. Brembos under F1’s gave it away!
