I bought a similar diagnostic tool for £25 delivered a while back. Used once and it more than pays for itself.
Daylight robbery FTFL!
EDIT: That link looks weird, I'm using Google Chrome, don't know if that's why.
Some help please.
The orange light to the left of the petrol light has come up in place of the other light. It is a box with lines up and down through it, and then a curled line under it. What does this mean?
I've tried loading a photo but no luck.
A rounded off plug?? weird. On the 1.2's the rubber end of the plug lead gets stuck on the spark plug, it feels like the socket is just spinning. Something to check for

So would that just mean propping up the rubber to have a clear way of removing the spark plug?
You better have a look at that spark plug mate. Take the HT lead off and then look at it, try put a socket on it and see if it grips, dont turn it but just fit it. Ohh needs to be a deep socket too.
Just see if the renault guy is taking crap first.

HT lead should pop off, pull the end closest to the spark plug (should be a wider section, dont pull the small bit of the lead) and pull up, should make a pop sound or come off.
Check the Spark then.
The missus' mother knows a good mechanic so she's going to introduce me to him tomorrow, I don't have any tools, so I'll leave that until tomorrow and pray for the best.
Thanks for the advice though.
Always carry tools with you, also i suggest you get some basic tools for taking parts off the car and for basic repair.
Just been to Renault, and they've booked me in for a week tomorrow. So much for Renault minute where they'll fit you in. They want me to pay £82 to have a bloody diagnostic check, £82!? That's daylight robbery.
