Rough Idle (Error Code with Pics) Clio Cup 172 Ph2

  Renault Sport 172CUP
Hi guys , could anyone help identify this error code I'm getting after the old stalk button pressed in before turning the key over.

Have just rebuilt the engine, Parts replaced, Big end bearings, APR's, Rings, Valves, Oil Pump, Water Pump, Cambelt Kit, All Gaskets + Seals, obviously everything else came off and out, getting disturbed.

Suffering with a rough idle, running at say 600/700 sounding slightly lumpy.

Is my error code something to do with anything "idle" related? Cheers Cs x

I did this test on mine and got 13L, I just figured it was how much fuel is left in the tank?!

Matt

All the lights lit (shows if you have a failed LED).

The amount of fuel left in the tank in litres.

Fuel flow (the engine has to be running. This is in liters per hour

Stored faults
t mean an injection fault has been detected for a minimum of 4 seconds
J means a fault has been noted on the fuel gauge. It must have disconnected for longer than 100 seconds. The resistance from the fuel tank sensor needs to be between 5 and 350 Ohms.
d means an injection signal fault has been detected
h means an oil level sensor fault has been detected. Resistance from the sensor should be between 6 and 20 Ohms. Any reading over 20Ohms is an open cicuit anything under 3 is a short circuit.

Note that the t fault will almost always need to be cleared when youve changed the plugs.
you can clear these from the dash iirc.

Do i have any of these faults? Thanks for that though mate! Seems like you know your stuff :)

Thats just your test screen to make sure all the parts of the lcd display are working

On your previous screen earlier on you have the 't' and 'h' fault codes

Get to that screen again and press the trip reset button on the dashboard in front of the speedo dial
it will clear these faults.
if they come back after a few days driving it may be a fault, bear in mind the poor wiring on these cars though.
i had t and h faults on my old 172 and after clearing them they never came back.

Let us know how you get on.

You could have asked on hear if anyone local to you has a Scangauge to plug in to the diagnostics port.

Then they could tell you what error codes its actually reporting as current, for free or a beer.
I think Renault still charge you around £80 for a fault diagnosis.

I agree though that your chosen route will get it sorted quick.
Good luck mate, post up your results, its always interesting to know what can cause rough idling.

Put a request in wanted section or local area section to borrow a rs tuner or diagnostic tester for 5 mins then drive or offer to pay petrol. Will save you a decent .
