Hi all.

Just thought I would start a thread as I now own @imprezaworks old RB 182.
Here is a few pics that I was sent Before I went to view it.

After 9 months of looking for a Clio to replace my old storm grey 200 that was sadly written off by a bus.

Iv always liked the look of 172/182’s and after reading @Dr Jekyll thread and seeing This picture I knew I wanted an RB.

In all fairness it’s pretty clean for its age all on all and I want to try and keep on top of it.

Mods wise:

Team dynamics 1.2
H&R springs
Renault sport steering wheel
Dog bone gearbox mount
And an exhaust system of some sort.

Think that’s everything.
I have a few things planned but not set in stone but firstly il be going over what needs doing for example the exhaust mounts need replacing.

Probably won’t be many updates over the winter and not many Photos as Iv not got any decent ones myself yet apart from this one.

Slowly reading though the forum.

Yeah it was a nice looking car.
Was really gutted.
But time to move on from that now.

Wheel wise I’m not sure, possibly white as it has the better offset but if anything that will be next year now, Bet there a pig to keep clean over winter.

Yeah it was colour that cost. Think it was something like £250 extra.
It would drive me nuts white wheels being dirty!! ?.
I use to own a Mk1 but it was only a 1.2

Back up for sale now on Facebook market ect. It’s been stickered up and looks pap.

You've definitely got yourself a good one, it's probably slower than any other 182 due to all the wax on it though ?. Good to see it's story continue on here, welcome aboard.

I actually thought the colour was something like an Audi paint job, for an extra £250 I can’t believe you don’t see more in this colour, sure theres a 182 in the same colour on here somewhere,

Yeah there is a 172 on here in SG.
Great colour.
There was only 43 non cup 200’s in SG and even less cup’s.

I’m sure he will show in due time

So yesterday I cleaned the car:
Rinse
Snowfoam
Rinse
2 bucket Wash
Door shuts cleaned
Brake away on the wheels To remove the brake dust.
Rinse
Dryed the whole car with a Rhino towel.

Cleaned glass
Then rain x on the outside
Rain x defog on the inside.
Such an easy car to clean.

Also ordered a set of powerflex exhaust mount.

Today:
Past it’s MoT and they were very happy with the overall condition of the car.
I’m really chuffed to say the least.

I got a Quick snap in the multi story when I popped in to town, I like finding car space’s like this.

Quick update.

After my MOT my spoiler brake light started to play up intermittently, Had a look about and found there like Rocking horse Sh*t.
Finally found a guy with a few Brand new ones and bought and replaced that.

Ordered some black powerflex exhaust mount’s.
Right hand side mount come of easy, left hand side the last bolt and snap the mount it self had broken.

So I put that one back on with two bolts holding it and carried on with removing the old bush, which was a pain in the arse.
I eventually set it on fire to remove it all.
Getting the Black series bush in was not easy but finally I got one in.

Went to put it back on the car and what’s this it won’t fit, on the Ktec exhaust there is a washer welded on the the Exhaust hanger which will need cutting off if you are using these bushes as it won’t allow you the depth to line up the holes for the mount to be put back on.
All in all a waste of a day.

Iv got two brackets Iv sorted off a member will send them away to be powedercoated and the bushes pressed in, and will doctor the hanger on the Exhaust.

Other than that I have a few 100miles driving under my belt with it now and can say I love it it’s a proper little hatch and compared to the Mk3 it’s much more raw.
For the time it was released it’s a right weapon, and even now with bigger powered cars it still holds it own well.

I have a few bits that need doing.

Interior light needs replacing as once it’s off it’s still on dim.
Need a cruise control bracket making up.
And sort out the exhaust mounts.

Update:

Cars been off the Road for a couple of days intermittent misfire, taken a calculated guess it was either, coilpack,leads or plugs, ordered coilpack, Leads and a full service kit from @renaultpartsdirect Which come the next day (Thanks).
All swapped over and cars back working and running smoothly and Iv had a bit of fun on the way to my sisters for present run, Feels even more lively than before.
Will do the oil change in the new year.
I have a few things planned for next year but the first thing I think is look at getting underneath treated as it’s in pretty decent condition and I’d like to preserve that.

Will also take this chance to wish you all a Merry Christmas.

I’m not sure yet I need to speak to some friends who are a bit more in the know about this kind of thing.
I’m sure they will suggest waxoyl or something along them lines.

How are side skirts attached on the 1*2’s?

A screw at either end in the wheel arches, and pop rivets along the sill, which you will have to grill out & replace.

I only ask as mine has split pins all the way down by the looks of it. Will probably do that again if needs be.

Bit of an update.

Not much has really changed with the car.
Apart from Iv driven it.
Made the trip to to mod nats with a group of people Iv know for years.
So have a few pictures from there.

The car needs a few bits doing to it:

Wheel bearings
Drop links
Oil change for summer
New ecu cover (I have this)

Also will be looking for a few new bits.
Engine mounts
A better air filter set up.
Hopefully some more updates over the summer.

Little bit of an updated.

Got a little engine dress kit. I’m not completely happy with it but it’s defiantly cleaned the bay up a bit more.
Same with the @MarcB battery cover and new battery terminal cover.

Iv also got some second hand hubs (60mm ones) and some new bearings from RPD.
Hopefully over the coming months I can get these hubs cleaned up and bearings pressed in.

Now for the bad bit.
Exhaust has been blowing a little bit around the manifold to decat.
I ordered a new clamp kit form RPD but the wire seal fits over the manifold side but not in to the decat which won’t allow me to push the new spring kit over and tighten. So for now Iv had to make up a little kit and am assuming that why it’s just been sealed with gummy in the past. it’s still blowing a little bit but i need to work out what to do.

Any help on this would be much appreciated.

Hi all.

Not an awful lot to update you on apart from I sorted out the rest axhaust mounts. (Ktec exhaust still isn't sitting straight.)
New wipers (Boshe aero blades) and new rear boot struts.

MOT next month so will have a look to see if anything will need doing.

Belts are due next year so may look in to some goodies.
Ported inlets or Tessa.
197 cams
Newer exhaust

I have a few questions about a few of these so will put them over in the engine section.
