safe to run without battery cover?

my (Varta) battery died today, so I went and boght a new one.
This one appears to be a bit bigger in size even though it's the same capacity - Bosch 56AH and now the cover wont fit.

Any thoughts?

i run my one without it - didn't realise there was one until you'd posted this. it'll be fine.
