Sat Nav dash install, proper mint!

Took long enough but its all sorted now, and its proper mint.

System specs for everything as follows......

PS2 , 600W amp powering DB Audio sub, infinity speakers all round, sony MP3 head unit, vdo ms5000 nav system(now with latest nav disk, no more trips to Bristol

Dont suppose youve got the part numbers for the surround have you? Someone mentioned in another thread that you managed to find them.

out of interest mike dyou know if the renault screen/controls could be used with vdo kit sourced direct rather than renaut to cut down the cost ? still very tempted to sort mine but want it to be identical in terms of the controls in the dash etc ?
looks spot on btw be interested to see it in person sometime.

yes mate, have all the part numbers as follows and prices.....

dash is 77 01 059 772 231 + vat

surround is

82 00 069 065 BRACKET DASH PANE 17.39 + vat

you can pick up a vdo ms5000 system from ebay for around 300 to 400 now.

Loony, you cant use the renault controls with the VDO system as far as I know.

Spent 280 for everything, already had the nav system for a while.

As to costs of the whole system in my car, not added it up just bit by bit over time.

that is a great install there mate, i have a 2002 clio dynamique and i have the standard dash with the time only and i really want a tv

do you think it would be better if i go for the renault dash and sat nav parts, or just get a motorized japanese

tv screen and hide the dvd player inthe glove cmpartment,and which would be cheaper

it could work out cheaper buying the renault dash than a motorised dvd HU

wot i plan to do is get the dash and holder and mould my own tv screen eg 6" alpine or somethin and not worry bout sat nav and have a slim ps2 inthe glovebox

do a search in this section for a guy that put blue surface mounted LEDS for the dash display - someone posted a link for the megane dash which is very similar to the clio

Old ps2, mounted under passenger seat instead of cd changer.

Gota take the dash top off again at the weekend(need to wire in ext. temp sensor), so can get some install piccys for a guide, how the monitor is mounted etc.
