Anyone else would say it's still a Saxo, including myself.
Would love a go though.
Would love a go though.
Bit of a strong word to say s**t cars, especially on a clio forum.
I think with the money spent on a certain car a proton could be a proper quick car,and much improved.Still a proton but a quick one.
Lol, I'm aware that I drive a Clio.
But Saxo's are the biggest piles of sh*t going. I couldn't care less if it could blow Veyrons into next week, I would rather walk.
All IMO of course, I understand alot of people like them and say they are great cars/great to drive etc. I just despise them.
Although by stripping it he has vastly improved the interior.
Haha, only a matter of time for that video to appear here. Known Wayne a while, good lad and has spent a small fortune on that car. It did blow a fuel injector out on the way home though but is all fixed now. Cant speak highly enough of Atspeed racing. Great attention to detail and very impressive mapping skills. They have a red 106 with circa 500Bhp and a white rallye they are working on for FCS will be making roughly the same.
Glad my car is going to them then!!!
A Clio is only a newer version of the Saxo, so don't get too ahead of yourself
Tbf, a Saxo is much more fun to drive than the Clio imo. I don't miss my 172, i do miss my VTR. Yes, the 172 was faster - buy a GTI/VTS and you'll stick with one until you're hitting illegal speeds. But the steering feel is far, far better.
Preferred my Saxo in almost every single way
I think the Clio shape has aged ok tbh, Saxo's look very dated now. No doubt in a couple/few years the Clio will be the same. And as an overall package a 1*2 is light years ahead of a Saxo. Possibly the worst interior of any car I've been in.
(IMO)
Personally I quite like Saxo's. I just hope the boy doesnt bin it after saving and putting all that money into it, he looks like a decent/sensible lad though!
Hello guys i'm back at home now got heavy whiplash, sore hip, sore ankle, cuts and bruises, btw i wasn't speeding just so everyone knows, i was doing 55 to 60 tops, if you don't believe then thats up to you, but i was in the car and that was what i was doing, i'm totally gutted tbh with you all, just had it all sprayed from the bodyshop also, was looking forward to putting a valver and cage in, still getting the cage but will be going in something else, the police said i'm lucky to have not broke any bones or dead tbh, the back end just skimped there was nothing i could do, as i tried most things to correct the car, when i corrected it it made it worse, some people probably say why didn't you rip the bar up i could of rolled if i did that or dead, all i'm saying is i drive round that corner most weeks and know what to expect tbh, i don't think i will have another saxo tbh well if i'm having one it's just going on track and get a clio 182for daily use. i went to see the car today, suspension failure and two blow outs, also the driveshaft has popped on the passenger side so that could be why i skimped. i'm not going to put pictures up of it for now as i want to remember it as the mintest saxo i've ever hadalso wasn't my fault tbh
Great little saxo that, probably far too dangerous for road use though.
Looking a pics of crashed cars does make me think
Certianly wouldnt be using all the power down country lanes, but on motorways and dual carraigeways IME of driving cars similar pace and quicker you do use all the power but you just dont hold it open for as long as you would in a slower car.
Ie you still nail it up to whatever speed you are comfortable with just to feel the acceleration but instead of backing off at a mile when you reach 140 in your 172 you back off at half a mile when you reach the same speed in a faster car instead, otherwise you are just risking your license too much.
I just dont do those sort of speeds anymore as its not worth the risk.
Mate of mine got clocked at 178mph and we were all amazed he didnt do time for it, Im pretty sure these days he would though as that was a few years ago.
178mph! What was he driving?
Mental car! Not sure I would put that sort of money into any car worth so little though, unless of course money was no object or I could do most of the work myself to save on labour costs. To give it to them to do the work must of easily been over 10k but its his money at the end of the day so obviously its up to him Looks mint.
