Seat Belt Tensioner

On the loom for the seat belt tensioner, does anyone know what the switch that is riveted to the seat rail is for?its a black plastic block with a bent piece of metal underneath.

It's the driver's seat position sensor, which tells the airbag, how far you seat from it.
