Sebring twin backbox falling too low...help needed!!

Hey guys.

We recently fitted a sebring twin exhaust back box to my clio, and when we first fitted it, it was fine (at about an inch from the bumper) but the next day it had fallen to about an inch from the ground :(

We keep lifting it back up but after a few hours it just drops straight back down.

We have changed the rubber mount but it hasnt made any difference, im guessing its because of the weight of the backbox (its pretty heavy to say the least).

Does anybody have any ideas/suggestions to fix this problem??

Cheers all.

Try a powerflex universal mount, cut the crap rubber out of the original mount a bond in the new 1! Job done!

is there anything i can buy to support the other side of the back box??

or maybe something that could be put around the whole backbox and attached to the underneath of the car??

obviously one side is on the rubber mount but the back box is just too heavy for the mount to hold.

The magnex exhaust comes with a separate holder for the other side, it bolts under the normal mount and projetcs over to the other side. Is the a lug on the other side of the box?

Get the metal cableties , lay yourself under the car and you'll think of something... easy peasy

and yes, those German backboxes do make your rear end look slammed, soooo heavy

There is a guide in the Guides section of the forum.

Either get some thick garden hose tubing and cut it to the width of the exhaust mount or two spare sockets and cable tie them to the rubber mount inside, so basically it's supporting the rubber, preventing it dropping.

To stop it from going to the side you could use different size sockets or tubing on one side depending on which way it is leaning.
