securing spare wheel on cup

after getting caught short with no spare wheel, i have now got a spare turbine off a 19 16v, put it in yesterday, question for those running a spare, how do you secure them in place? the plastic screw type thing ( that holds the jack kit in) is not long enough now, or do you just have to leave them loose?

Turn the wheel upside down mate and put the toolkit in the middle again. Should secure down again then.

tried that one mate, the plastic bit you screw in wasn't long enough to reach the bolt it screws onto

Oh. Mine just sits in the wheel well unsecured. Not very safe though in a stripped out car. You could always buy a boot net from Renault to sit over the top of it?

Take out standard stud that you screw onto. Then buy a massive bolt, preferably same thread, and attach that in the same place, bolt through wheel well.
