Service - where would you take it?

Had a look at the service costs at my local dealer - nearly fell off my perch! Would you bite the bullet and pay to keep up the full Renault service history or go to a decent independant garage - ABP motorsport are just down the road from me. I've used them before and they seem pretty good and they'll be a lot cheaper.

12k service - £130 at my local renault garage, thought that was excellent, the local renault dealer garage wanted £205..

you can book your service online with Renault, mine came out cheaper than I was quoted so it may be worth giving it a go.

If you do a search you'll find it on here somewhere...

I'm going to take my car down to Rentech....it'll take me 11/2 hours to get there but by a lot of comments on here it'll be worth it.

Don't be fooled into thinking you have too have your car serviced by a main dealer! There is an EU directive that allows you to take your car to an independant without affecting your Renault warranty!!

Take it too a garage you trust or has been recommended!

When I picked my new car up recently I was told I "have" to take the car to Renault, my Dad who owns an independant garage told the salesman what he was saying was against the law as it creates a monoply over small independants. The sales man soon changed his story saying that Renault "recommend" servicing at a main dealer!

I just wonder how many people they fleece with this. If it hadn't been for my Dad being there I would have believed the salesman!

Ren-Tech are independant mate. A lot of people use independant garages on here for servicing and repairs.

PS - You forgot to mention the independant garage must be VAT registered too to comply with the warranty.

Cars out of warranty so more than happy to have it serviced/maintained by an independant dealer/mechanic.

By the standards of the last Renualt dealer I dealt with your probably better off anyway.

Taking mine to Rentech in a couple of weeks for 12K service. 100 mile round trip, but from the things i've heard about my local Renault garages, its going to be well worth it!
