I very much enjoy reading peoples opinions and lively debates. Its just when it starts getting into the name calling stage that it becomes tedious. Then theres always one who thinks his willy is bigger than the rest.

I agree, 172 vs 182 arguments are pointless. The 182 is an evalution of the 172 and so should be better in every way. Thats how cars work!

Look at stuff like the Golf GTi which "was" a great car, but the later incarnations were/are overweight & underpowered!
