Some great looking Williams here. I'm quite envious as wanted one back when they were new. Too much of a labour of love now, though.

Very nice! Why did you sell it? And btw what exhaust system is on it?

Was a magnex system with Decat, sounded great. Sold it circa 2005, wanted a scoob and had the Williams for a while and I get bored quick. Was one of the best cars iv had, and the condition was unbelievable, proper immaculate. Person I sold it to wrote it off

Yeah mines a magnex catback, however mine seems a little larger than both yours and Luke's on his valver (which iirc is also a magnex) and mine seems to stick out the back bumper a bit more than both of yours.. any idea of any reason why? The tailpipe could do with being 1/2" or so more recessed imo!

Its not cashflow that's the problem its spec creep.
Youre going to be stuffed if when you finally try a trackday you don't like it after all this spending. Lol.

Ah I see, I think mine is 3.5". Anyone have any idea how to make the exhaust slightly more recessed? I guess the whole exahust system must be different to the original magnex!

Check the joints are slid right in, failing that just chop a bit out.

Fair enough - Would chopping out a bit effect the flow/power delivery you reckon? wouldnt want to compromise that, but would prefer the exhaust slightly more recessed!

Yes I have a williams 1 but I havnt seen it for two years as its in storage and in a restoration kind of state lol and I cant remember the number ethier!

Same as mine, has been in the garage for 4 years now!

I just can't pull it out as I know it's going to be an absolute money pit before I even start the engine again!

Where would be the best place to chop a section out?

You need to have a look to decide that, as if you take it from the front it might be ok or it might move the bend that goes over the beam too far forward. Without seeing the exhaust and how it fits I can't answer.

Valvers too, they can be specced to Williams level or higher anyway...

I've been cruising in my Williams for some time till recently, M5 has taken it's place as daily runner...but it is still with me, and always will be. When you drive this car after the M5, which is an AWESOME car too...it's a revelation:

LOVE it!

Until recently , a daily driver.

A nice 182 raced after me today to say hello in Locks Heath. I pootle in urban areas at a max of 30, and always if oil isn't up to temps. If you read this buddy, shame you turned off before motorway...would have show you how an old Mk1 Clio wtfpwns my V8 5.0L M5 in straight lines AND the bends too...your semi modded 182 would be as dust.

...like most ;)

That's most of it I think.

Oh, I forgot: 12.5 high compression.

Straight line, the M5 beats it. On the bends though, Clio really shines, wipes the floor with heavy M5.

Interesting stuff Wobba, nice car! How much does it cost for TBs on the Williams? (Obviously there are different TBs available, but a guideline?)

asked him its reg number and its n870 pus i know its a stab in the dark but does anyone know it

:hail: :hail::hail: Mother of God. This beats the Ph1 appreciation thread for car p**n.

If I had a valver or Williams I think I'd restore it and moth ball it. I nearly bought one about 2006 but insurance was too high so bought a 106 GTi instead. I'm old now though ;)
