Cool, I'll try Dirty Rally 2 first then at a third of the priceI don’t massively rate EA WRC, I prefer Dirt Rally/Dirt Rally 2.
I wouldn’t rule out a TV these days. My LG B9 was less than a grand and is just unmatchable as a display.
8nm is pretty good tbh, most people with more powerful ones turn them down anyway, it’s not like most cars rip your arms off like a single seater if you get it sideways.
If you're planning on playing a decent amount of rallying games, I'd definitely recommend the Fanatec shifter as it's easily switchable between H-pattern and sequential. I know you've had issues with Fanatec but you can pick one up second hand off FB Marketplace or eBay. I'd also recommend the Moza handbrake as it's relatively cheap but works really well. It's much better than those cheapo ones you can get.3) Shifter (H pattern and sequential in one) and handbrake as I just want it, Also want to get the EA WRC and I imagine myself handbraking the hairpins.
I feel like EA WRC is a step up in terms of physics, especially the tarmac physics which were lacking in the previous Dirt games. However it does feel like a half-finished game. The career mode is really shallow, the tyre degradation makes no sense and some of the locations are boring (Croatia). Also most of the RWD cars are still as terrible to drive as they have been in previous DIRT's, they still can't get the physics right. It's a tough call between Dirt 2.0 and EA WRC I think. There are definitely elements of D2.0 that I like, but EA WRC has better cars. I do miss Rally German though, as it was a good place to practice without too much jeopardy. Sadly, my handbrake won't work on Dirt 2.0 for some reason, so I don't really play it anymore.
Think so, I couldn't even figure out how to start as I don't have a handbrake so after I'd be faffing about trying to start I wasn't straight.Turn of lock on without realising it?
Supposedly they're still taking and shipping out orders, but personally I wouldn't take the risk right now.Bloody hell. I almost placed an order with them last week, but all of the DD wheel bases were out of stock which seemed odd. I guess that's why.
I've decided to have a go after a few friends talked me into it.
I picked up a Omega GT ART with chair and monitor stand for £200, I've got some strengthening bits to go on.
Searched Ebay and Market place, the best price seems to be the bundle deal for Fanatec direct. Ordered at the start of August, UPS has package and will be delivered this week. 12 days order to deliery.
Will be using my trusty 2019 Alienware R7 (1080ti) to power it for now.
Also got a Samsung G5 34" Ultrawide monitor to go on the stand.
Can't wait, not played much other than Call of Duty for years....

I hope they send you all the bits you ordered, especially under the circumstances that Fanatec are going through atm.
Rig looks good though 👍
There are a LOT of people building DCS rigs like this. I prefer VR though.Log in to Facebook

yup pased Hamburg now
Cleared Uk Customs this morning, waiting for my tax and UPS bill. Seems like it's much smoother than early brexit/blackfriday c**k-ups.
That seems rather tame compared to this.
Well I am truly awful at this so far. Any tips for getting better?
At the moment all I’m doing is hot laps around random tracks on AC, but it all feels a little empty. What would you recommend doing to improve? And is there a more social game mode for noobs? I didn’t want to race online and royally piss people off for spinning at the first corner.
