Gave it a go....

You might have wanted to ask for possible discount off future products you are intending to buy in the very near future rather than straight compo? They may be more flexible to that.

Going to see what they come back with. I didn't want to show my hand early. Put it in their court first, if they come back with piss off again then I'll just front up and say I want your load cell pedal can you sort me a discount and I'll order now.

Ah, I thought you already asked and was shot down by them.

Yeah I was, but when I asked they were still just Fanatec and pretty much bankrupt. They have since been taken over by Corsair so I'm chancing my luck that they are on some PR mission at the moment to keep people happy.

Well well well, less than 30 minutes.

I've found a spare slider and borrowed my passgener seat from my Clio, feels Ace!
I've also added some Dyton Audio Bass Shakers via Sim Hub, Engine Vibration, gearshifts, Road texture, kerbs wating on some rumble motors for the pedals. Sounds a bit gimicky but it all adds to the immersion feels like its switched off without it.

I bought myself a new seat a few weeks ago. Went with a Sparco Grid Q I think is the one I went for. the Trakracer GT seat I had (For nearly 3 years) is known for destroying backs/bodies.

Makes a big difference. I ran the Petit Le Man (10 hours around Road Atlanta) on Saturday. Came in second just 7 seconds behind 1st place. My wrists were cooked after doing a triple stint (3 x 40 laps). Good fun though.

iRacing cannot be beat for multiplayer racing.

Which ones are you going for? The Simagic ones seem to get the best reviews
Is what I have gone for.

Don't know if the true size of this new monitor comes across on an image.

We are getting there though, chased Fanatec again so will hopefully get at least a decent discount so I can upgrade to the V2 or V3 pedals, shifter and handbrake.

Once I've done that I can finally tidy all the cables and we are done.

Fanatec finally got back to me, no chance of any compensation as it would be unfair on other customers some how.

Last attempt now I've asked for some sort of discount if I go ahead and purchase what I want.

Power supply arrived finally for the R12. It was blown up by the sparky on the 17th of September ffs.

Not really Moza’s fault in the first instance since it was Evri that lost it, but i was pretty disappointed by their insistence on trying to chase the original parcel when it had clearly gone walkies and not just sending a second one right away.

Never mind though, I’ve had a great evening banging in a couple hundred miles’ worth of driving. EA Sports WRC is a bit better now I think with the latest update which is good, but all of the button labels are wrong which is a bit special.

What load cell pedals are everyone using? Me and Fanatec are done. They've closed my query with them now.

Was looking at brake/throttle only for value, for entry level load cell I've got the Moza SR-P or Asetek La Prima.

Anything else to consider?

Torn between two now. Been doing a bit of research and the haptic reactors are a must have.

It is either the SimLab pedals because they look cool as and get a bracket 3D printed somewhere t mount the haptics

or just go full SimMagic P1000 + haptics.

Good effort bud. I've not read a bad review of those pedals (kinda why I recommend them). The Asetek Invicta pedals I use are awesome. However, I can also see why people wouldn't get on with them (brake pedal that literally doesn't move etc).

I opened that simagic link earlier and thought ‘wow, that’s a lot of pedals for £100’ before realising that was for just the clutch 😂

Still tempting though, especially with the hydraulic option.

Early thoughts of the P1000s.

Only can go off the ergonomics of the things as I couldn't get them working in Assetto Corsa.

Meh, heel plate is too small. Even on the lowest foot pedal height, so would need my foot resting on the brake which isn't great, the angleof the pedal is to far forward so much so that I'd probably need negative angle on my base plate and I can't do that.

On the plus side the build quality is fantastic and maybe I won't find it an issue when driving.

On a positive note, they turned up faster than your CSL DD did.

Can you stick some big washers underneath the mounting bolts at the forward end? Shim them up a bit?

I put in the longest M8 bolts they gave me as the bolts weren't wide enough so added a washer/ I guess I could get some longer ones again. That is a good shout but I don't know how the angle would work with getting them and the front bolts tight.

And on the CSL delivery times I don't think I'll ever be disappointed in any delivery time again. Can't wait for a company to tell me that will be a 9 month delivery time and I can tell them I've had worse. Massive positive for RaceAnywhere though, said shipped within 2 to 3 days on their website and was here in a little over 36 hours.

Pop some pics up of the issues you’re having. Might be easier for people to make suggestions on how to solve it.

i may have a bit of a solution for the heel plate as well, it fixes on two bars either side then mounts into the pedal base with two screws. I will try sliding it back and just fixing with one screw leaving a gap between the pedals and plate

Not sure how well it shows but they are angled forward and the rig base plate is on the first level of incline. With my foor then on the pedal my foot hangs off the back of the heel plate.

So I'm wondering if the angle of the pedal won't make a difference and it is just the lack of length on the heel plate.

Also I've only adjusted the brake so far moving it as low as it goes and angled the pedal down more.

Someone on reddit added foam to raise his foot.

Yours seem to lean forward quite a bit too is that normal?

Can you not bin those rear angle brackets off and mount the base plate directly to the channels in the aluminium side bars?

Yes I could, but looking at it I've got the front of plate mounted in the lower holes of the alu profile. If I put it in the top and drop it down to the lowest level that will help massively.

As above, I think my leaning to far forward is the way I have the rig setup so will need to modify that, Looking at that image the pedals don't seem to be moved down to their lowest setting which would help massively.

I've also had some good play time tonight, admittedly these times are from when I first got the rig and had was the first 20 laps I did but my time has gone from using the CSL pedal to these by 9 seconds quicker with no config yet apart from a little dead zone in the brake so I can rest my foot on it a little.

One query I have is that I've gone for the sport car setup from the performance kit but to get full brake It literally lifts me out the seat. Do I just need to dial back where the 100% force is? and the pedal travel is tiny up to the CSLs which is weird

You can absolutely reduce the max on the pedal if you want, I did that when I first got my truebrake before I found a softer spring for it.

It has a 100kg loadcell so yes, you'll be pushing hard to max it out. On the listing it says they have hall angle sensors built in too which might be worth trying if you're more road car biased.

Can you slide the pedal faceplate down a hole or 2? Also, remove the angle on yer pedalplate. This'll get you your angle sitting nicely. Braking force can take a chunk of time to get right for you.

I found using the max force was good for big stops for note initiating the ABS but made it a lot harder to trail brake/make small brake presses. The converse to that is making it too easy to press therefore making it waaaaay too easy to lock up. I recon I'm now around the 75% force mark. My brake pedal has a max force of around 185kgs for reference.

I can't get the pedal plate undone now lol. I'll get the thing in the air on the weekend and do some alterations. I'll report back my next failure then.

Spent yesterday evening playing with the rig, plan was to go completely flat with the pedal plate and use the aluminium profile to fix it into, that hit a snag when I realised I'd need to take the whole front off to slide the nut things in. Ended up just going to the lowest level on the mounting points and moved the pedals further back, it is night and day now better. So it was my setup and not the pedals on the angle they sit.

Still think the heel plate could be longer but with the pedals flatter it is just about enough.

Dead happy with them at the moment and been playing mostly Forza. Haptics don't work with it through the Simagic Sim Pro software and I can't get the ABS to work through simhub but all the other effects work and I definitely have the ABS setting turned on in both Simhub and Forza
