If you are a Sky digital customer and subscribe to sky Sport and/or Sky movies then you might be interested to know Sky by Broadband launches today. It allows you to legally download selected movies for free and watch sports highlights, interviews, news etc....

Only had a quick play but this is what it looks like -

I've already got it installed so my options are different to yours. I simply followed the instructions, registered and then it gave me a link to download the software.

This may help tho -

How do I download Sky by broadband again?

If you need to download the Installer again, login to your Sky.com account. Go to "Your Services" and locate Sky by Broadband. Select the link to download the Sky by broadband software installer again.

Its good, but when you download movies, you can only watch them on the computer that they've been downloaded from.. and your license only runs for 30 days or so, then it delete's them from your pc...
like the website though...

All the films I've downloaded work on my divx/dvd player and on the pc it says I have "364 days to watch this film"

They are just normal avi files mate (albeit weird file names). I've got a DIVX player so I just copy the avi straight onto a cd but you can convert them to dvd just as easily.

Yeah i have a Divx player too (great things, play anything).
Im just downloading a film now but it looks like you can only play it through them?

Are you sure they are AVI's, everything I have downloaded has been WMV's and play in Windows Media Player. You can cut them out of the download folder where it first puts them to store them where you want but they will only play on the pc that downloaded them and has the sky software installed.

Weird!?!?

I'm using a Samsung HTUP30 Cinema system via the USB input. It has a MS logo on it and definately plays .wma's so perhaps that's why it also plays these. I assumed they were AVI's as it's a DIVX/XVID player.

Tony sorry then mate. My fault for not checking and wrongly assuming what they were.

It does play through windows media player, i needed new updates before i could download anything.
Hoping my DVDplayer will play them.

Bunch of toss, just tried to install it and it wont install due to me having WMP11 installed..

i get an Error "WMP10 or later not installed"

LOL
