Yes, they need 'bedding in' tbh, do a search mate loads of posts about bedding in pads :)

right its definately not the pads bedding in as i can blatently smell burning now,am quite concerned as obviously this is one of the more important aspects of a car!

are they standard pads??

on the montex ones there was a couple of runs you had to do to bed them in such as a 30-0 70-40 etc etc. But they will stink for w while till bedded in

The only time i've seen new pads some myself is when I put some standard ferrodos in Blooors 1.4. Went to give them a nice hard bed-in and they smoked a little but not a lot really, and this was after a good 3 60-0 runs.

My EBC yellows were fully alight when I first cained them, plus lots and lots of smoke.

Since then I can't get them to do it again.

i did it,taken it to my renault specialist today to see what he says but he reckoned also that if its both wheels itll be the pad material but will do a complete brake check for me
