Snow Foam Query

  Skoda Fabia vRS
went to B&Q earlier to check if the MacAllister PW we have will take Karcher fittings, and it does

so, im thinking of getting the foam lance for xmas off the mrs, but im wondering about how often i will use it

can it be used all the time as your wash ?......do you fill up a bucket of clean water to rinse your mitt in and use the foam as your shampoo ?

or is it simply a pre wash when the car is really bad ?

and does the snow foam remove wax/sealants ?

mix the snow foam with your shampoo. probably about a cm of each and it'll lift the dirt off your car as a prewash. then hose it down and it should be pretty much clean.

im considering on, but think i would stick with just a 2 bucket wash method myself as i only use the pressure washer when its truly shitty

the gold end is the 'proper' end for the karcher. i didnt think the karcher and macallister parts were interchangable but could well be wrong.

looking online it looks different, however a Karcher lance fitted into it when i tried it at B&Q, but im wondering if it would probably not be a good connection and might leak ?

With regards to using it as your shampoo, and then using only a rinse bucket. Its not really a great method at all. Its best to foam the car, let it dwell, then rinse off, this removes the loose grit and harder particules which would scratch your paint if dragged along the surface. It will also have softened the heavy dirt. Then you can use a two bucket method to wash the car.
If you feel that the foaming has removed all grit and that, then you can then foam again and use this 2nd foam up as your shampoo mix and then a rinse bucket, but i would still steer away from this method, but all upto the individual.
Sorry if thats a repeat of anything above.

since found out Autobrite have a cracking deal on at the moment, and mine takes a 'hobby' connector

snow foam is a goer :D

  Works...kind of...
I've heard snow foam can remove LSP's is this correct ?

SSF will remove protection, but only if you use it solely (and lots of it). It's designed to be used in small amounts alongside shampoo and warm water in the bottle, therefore it wont make any difference to the protection.

I tend to add just a bit of SSF to normal shampoo's like others have never been sure how LSP freindly it is.

As I used some this morning I was wondering the same, it certainly smells quite like TFR I have used, but well diluted and rinsed off I'm sure its not that bad.

SSF is really good even with just the Super Spray system I am currently using. Really rate the CG Maxi Suds too, but its like £6 compared to the £11 for the SSN and about a fiffth of the quantity.

Actually my SSN was free as the container split in transit and Tim @ CYC refunded me the whole amount which was good of him.
