yea there is bargains to be had, if only the insurance wasnt so high.
The cup is actually cheaper to insure than the 172,but it still depends how old you are

Thats because there were more Cups sold than Dynamique 1.6s
thought there was only a limited number of cups made so i doubt that there has been more sold.

AFAIK the cup and 172 both fall under the group 16 category, 16D or E I think, but I cant remeber for sure.

I came from a Bravo HGT to a cup, thinking that the insurance was gonna sky rocket, as the Cup is a lot faster and more desirable than the HGT, but it was £200 cheaper a year!!! To say that i was a happy chappy was an understatement!

I thought the 172 and Cup were the same to insure as well.

Erm... I dont mean to piss on your fire, but Mr. Townsend is someone who should know!! Cups = common as muck!!

Cup was definately a little dearer to insure when I got mine!! I got various insurance companys to give me a quote for the 172 and the Cup. Cup was always more. Only 20 - 30 quid or so though.

Probably due to them thinking someone who wants a faster stripped out version is gonna be more of a boy racer and therefore a higher risk.
