Solution! rear wiper, wiping the whole curve

  clio 182
As you know the rear wiper is crap and always misses the top middle part of the curve under the brake light and this proper fooks me off as i am picky b*****d n want everything right.

After playing around n stopping the wiper at the top i found that the wiper doesnt curve to the glass as it should and it was down to a problem with the plastic holder and a bit of plastic that sticks out too much and stops it moving to the glass... a file and a bit of sand paper and 2 mins later a working wiper! :D

just thought id share with people as i know they'll b alot of picky b******s like me out there

Where did you take the bit off?

I snapped my rear wiper the other day trying to fix this... its slapping about like a flacid phalis now...

second picture, where the arm meets the wiper/clip.
the wiper, where the clip is, its the outside edge curve that goes to a point, ive now sanded that point into a curve and took about 3mm off and curved it back into the orignal curve

if u get me?

hope this helps, more pictures

the red line is where the plastic used to be, simplily just sanded that area away and the wiper wipes the whole glass...

My new wiper solved this problem, But it misses a tiny bit, Will do a bit of sanding tomorrow.

So on the part at the end that can move freely to wipe the curve, You sanded the lip down a bit ?

yeah if you look at the attached pic's the second one has a red line where the plastic used to be n i just sanded from that line to where u see the plastic now n it freely wipes the whole curve now

I don't get how people end up with this problem. Both my Clios I've stuck Halfords own brand cheapo rear blades on and they all wipe the full curve.

Mine doesn't wipe on the first pass, but does on return so it's fine.

so where can I get myself the actual wiper arm from (the interchangeable bit) and how much - snapped mine the other day?

Just filed a mm off mine, Looked pretty much what yours did after.. before...

Will see if theres a bit more pressure at the edge of the curve, It cleans a semi circle unlike the one before which missed a massive part.. But lacks a 1cm pressure at the top of the curve. (pointless really but just wanted to see)

I think the mouldings from different suppliers must be off in a few places, And this places is obviously vital for the curve to clean.

Both mine are valeo stamped though i think.

It's the plastic on the wiper arm. If u look at pictures closely I'll c in red where the plastic just to be n where is it now. Hope this helps
