Somebody in Derbyshire to fit a Chip in my ECU?

Right basically ive got a chip to fit in my ECU... i went to maplins got a DIM chip holder, and a desoldering tool.

I thought to myself "aahhh this will only take me 20mins"

10mins later..... I desoldered 27pins, but couldnt desolder the last pin!

A bloke at work said it must be the earthed pin? its connected to the rest of the board so all the heat is disserpated through the board which means the solder wasnt melting, spent 20mins trying to get this 1 pin unsoldered and no luck! so i ended up soldering all the pins back together as i needed my car to drive home from work LOL

So if there is anybody in the derbyshire area who has a "proper desolderer" or other means of fitting the chip... it would be much appreciated, and of course there will be a reward for your services

I did think that myself but its a 50min drive from me...

if you want someone to do a good job then its worth the drive imo

yeh thats is true matey...

I could do a good job myself if i had a better soldering iron LOL

use some pliers or something on the chip side of the pin to act as a heat sink(so you dont damage chip) then wait till soldering iron is hot and desolder.

maplin have got some adjustable ones on offer for around 12 quid at the moment.

lol thats tru... i drove 3 n half hours last saturday to view a new car for meself. wanting a williams3 as one thrashed me the other day (i've got a 172) drivings what a clio's all about man, GET TO THE SHOP. GET IT DONE IN A PRO MANNER

hahaaa... no no no i love driving, but a 1hr 40min drive to get 1pin unsoldered seems a bit Crazy lol

just rang these guys..... waited 4minutes on the phone, then he came back to me with "oooo well it will take about an hour" i did 90% of it myself in 10mins LOL!

then he said "and you would be lookin at £45 an hour +VAT" WAAAAT! all that for abit of soldering?
