Spark Plug Removal Tool for 172/182?

Is one needed or can you do the same as on the 1.2 and use a long socket on extension bar to undo the spark plug and pull it out using the HT lead?

If i need a spark plug removal tool what size do i need?

I dont want to buy new plugs yet as i want to remove mine to check what make they are as ever since i had my car serviced inc spark plug change its run like crap when cold.

I used the 16mm deep socket that I got in my socket set with the long bar

Just remeber to twist the ht lead before you pull it out.

damn, ive not got a 16mm deep socket. Will have to pop to halfords tommorow and grab one.
