Spax coilovers for dynamique...

  Breaking A 172 Replica
How good are spax coilovers? How much of a difference will I notice in terms of handling and cornering?

Thanks...

wheres edde when u need him lol. He had some on his williams and said they were shocking. For the price i'd get fks, never had any problems with mine, and were the best mod i ever did in terms of handling

Yeah, PMd edde he said they weren't brilliant but is that just because he is used to buying top of the range stuff?

I am being offered some that are set up for a 1.2 dynamique (but are now non-adjustable) with camber bolts for 100.00?

How much difference will I notice over standard?

Thanks

Right ok.

How much are they brand new?

60mm drop with 17" alloys (205/45/17 tyres) won't rub will it?

Cheers

In what way are spax rubbish?

I don't care about ride quality I just care about cornering and handling.

Does anyone know if the dynamique suspension as standard is different to that of the expression, authentique etc?

i'll allow others to comment on FK's Vs Spax (edde especially!)

have you ever seen a 1.2 16V overtaking 172's round a track?

lol no but I guess it doesn't happen tooooo often?

Basically I just want someone to tell me if its just the stiffness and ride quality that make spax noticeably inferior or if its everything.

Is it even worth changing my standard to these spax or will I notice little difference?

  Turbos.
The Mini race series used to use Spax coilovers in their race series, but they kept breaking. They moved to Bilstein, enough said really!

spax are now under new ownership and were used on the fastest car on earth......if we want to use useless bias arguments.

I hate suspension discussions, its all petty opinions.

As I said in the post to you thats my old suspension I had on my car which I sold. It wasn't cheap when I got it and I lost a load its terribale stuff I woulnd't realy recomend it to anyone the rear dampers will fail again very quicky.

The spax stuff hardenes the ride I found it a bit to bad for me plus since I bough another car I didn't need two modified cars I sold it on it had 6 sets or so of new rear dampers under warently in as many months they keep claiming to have fixed the rattling valve which makes the ride all rong and going round the bends the back goes to light and dangerous but they havn't theyre just fobbing people off.

Dynamics have different sprngs often but then again there so many different setups there no sporty one realy.

I'd like to know how there setup for a 1.2 as I had them on my diesel and I think there exactly the same right height setup.
