Spax coilovers Vs Eibach springs?

  Breaking A 172 Replica
I have been offered some spax coilovers for 100 pounds and eibach springs in this group buy.

Which ones do you recommend? The Spax come with camber bolts and are setup for my clio with a 60mm drop.

I would prefer the drop on the coileys but how does the handling compare?

Thanks

Sam

But they are spax - are these just inferior in relation to H and Rs or are they inferior to springs?

Why not edde? Are they fooked?

If its just a prefernce thing, there is no competition, be ten times better than eibachs.

Yep there bust the rear dampers fail ever few K the ride isn't perfect stock is much better on a race circuit I'm sure they are better suited. There much like the Gaz dampers.
The'll be no better than just springs I'd g with springs alone personally then again infatc I'd leave it alone the setup or pay more money for stuff.
I've heard good things about SPAX though?
You heard wrong on CLios there terriable.
Edde, is this because they are in a poor condition or what?
There rusted up I think for starters plus there a few years old the rears have been changed countless times I had 5 or so new sets.

I had Spax height adjustable and dampening coillovers on my old focus and i loved them, on my recommendation a mate brought a set for his focus end of last year and he really likes them also.

Maybe you had a dodgy set edde :rasp:

Edde is this based on your own experiences or is this what you have seen from lots of different Spax setups on different clios?

Or maybe they are just make useless Renault stuff.

Some of there stuff for other cars is supposed to be quite good its cheap stuff at the end of the day its no Leda etc.

I had enough sets of rear dampers to know they cannot tell the truth the manager or someohting from leda or some big compnay moved there a few years back and wasd supposed to be turning the place round as it could do very well it did the thrust SST dampers but seemingly he's still not fixed the CLiod ampers as owners are still now complaining.

Its based on both mine and numerous other people some of which won't wish to be known and most no one will have heard of.

But ask 16V_jon his experiances he had the same setup as me and the same trouble he's willing to come on and give a true and fair judgement I'm sure.

There rear dampers are the biggest issue mine were replaced both parts and labour for free as part of the lifetime garentee and were done about 5 or 6 times it was basically ever two weeks and they kept fobbing me off saying these were the new desing ones etc when i sold the kit on the rear dampers were new and were a supposed complete redesign and they didn't rattle but I got fed up bought a faster track cars and sold them the next owner said they'd started rattling very quickly afterwards

lol I was thinking that.

I really didn't want edde to say that... I desperately want a cheap was to drop my car and to make it handles nicely :(

I had a set the rear dampers they failed after 2k miles utter crap . I kept changing them up until i changed to FK's.
They have a design fault and they have not yet been re-designed.

waste of money
