Split Steering Wheel Insert

Somehow i think i already know the answer, but i live in hope !

The rubber hand/thumb grip thingy on the right hand side of my steering wheel has split. (I should have listened when i was told to keep both hands on the wheel !)
Does anyone know if these can be bought from renault without buying a full new (very expensive) wheel ?

Very common problem, that and the steering wheel melting.

Ebay or an aftermarket one is best if your wanting to replace it.

Fred was looking for one in perfect nick so that he could fabricate one in Carbon Fibre...don't know what happened to that idea.

I have an old steering wheel with good thumb grips in excellent condition, just the outside of the wheel has melted alot, so its good for the grips, i dont know how easy they are to remove though....

^ Me too, they are glued on and they'll probably split if you try to remove them

I have removed the rubber trims from a good wheel, just need patience and a sharp scalpel.
With a new wheel at £300 it's worth a try guys!
