SPLX, would you get one

this is currently advertised on ebay and i see these alot on there. is it worth buying to do an install in my car with or are they sh*t

the power figures are hugely overrated. The build quality is laughable. The company that make them ive been told specialise in fridges and washing machines etc....sounds good so far doesnt it.

If you want me to go on. SPLX subs have a nasty habit of dying with not a lot of power through them. The excursion limit is reached easily which can cause, lets say, some "interesting" backplate banging noises.

And look at it...really look at it...how toss can a sub look? If you opened your boot at a show or cruise etc, would you really want people to see what youve spent your hard earned on?

I spoke to a fella in Motorworld near here who said that as far as speakers go, the SPLX subs are just like big...errrr....speakers, ie as subs they are bobbins. Spend a bit more and get the JBL sub if you are working to a budget, and search the forums for info on both SPLX and JBL. Theres been plenty!

seconded, and yes, the manufacturers do specialise in hygiene products, same reason as kenwood will never be considered a decent ice manufacturer

in a word....no

had a kid come in my halfords the other day whod just brought 2 10inch 800WATT!!!! splx subs from motorworld asking me for a price on a 1600watt amp...tried for at leats 20 mins to convince him why a vibe BB2 would be more than enough with 2x100watts RMS on tap...tried explainin the whole max power vs. RMS power to no avail...kid walked out muttering "f**king ripspeed specialists know f**k all"...lol bless

i work for Motor World, and no matter how much i try to convince people to spend a little more on the JBL stuff we have at dirt cheap prices, the fact that the SPLx is cheaper usually means thats what they buy

go to your local Motor World, pick up a GT4-12" sub for £50 !!!.........will be a LOT better than the SPLx one, and for the same money when you figure in the postage cost

SPLX..........................lets not do this! The guy that does my I.C.E wont even fit SPLX even if someone has bought them from somewhere else (he doesnt stock them) and taken them to him to fit, he wont touch them.

Nothin less that MB Quart, JL Audio, Dyne Audio, Alpine.

SPLx are sh!t, i hate them as much as Goodmans i wouldnt fit either of them. not just because i hate them, but people are never happy with them and blame the fitting not the products.
