Spongey brakes after slider change

My brakes seem to be spongy now that I have changed my front sliders. I pushed out the piston on the nearside caliper slightly then pushed it back in. Was a bit of a struggle getting it back over the pads and required a slight tap with a rubber mallet.
Think I have gotten air into the system somehow? I didn't remove the brake fluid cap before pushing out and in but it was literally like 1cm. Shall I attempt to bleed?

Just bleed it , should be fine . You'd have been better off just cracking the bleed nipple open a bit so it was just weepeing out to push the piston back into the caliper, it would have made it alot easier .

Thing is I hardly even moved the piston out. Had been hoping to avoid bleeding as that one's rounded but ahh well. I do have stainless nipples on order but bank holiday weekend means they won't arrive :(
Will bleed it tomorrow and hopefully that solves it.
Had a proper badly seized slider which although would turn wouldn't come out the carrier. Just seems weird it's so spongy.

i don't know why it would be spongy if the piston only came a little bit. I always clean and regrease the sliders everytime I change the brake pads . Touch would I've never had one seize yet . If you did manage to get the slider out , clean it up , wire wool and regrease . I'd leave bleeding until the stainless nipples arrive , at least if you do manage to get the rounded one out it doesn't matter if its knackered .

If the pedal does not pump up, it will not need bleeding.
As it has been seized, there is a good chance the pads have worn at an angle to the disc and are flexing it.

I've already put brand new sliders in so that's no worries. Only just got this car really so going through it all step by step.
Bit of a pain really as im going home tomorrow so wanted the brakes to he working properly for the drive back. Will have a look in the morning see if I can turn it with mole grips without messing it up too much.

The pads are fairly new that's the thing, and not at an angle at all. Think it just needs bedding in again properly? Very odd.

I'll weld them onto my calipers then as it felt so much better before.

Seriously though it doesn't feel right. Was perfect before. 😂
