spring bolts things on 172 exhausts

where the cat goes up into the back of the engine (manifold) u attach the cat with two nuts and theres some sprong type things there. has anyone had a problem with these before? i fitted my de cat AGAIN and at quite high revs it seems to make a high pitched sort of mtal on metal squeel! i took it to a local garage and they had a quick look and thought it could be them? id this common?

did you fit the wee fibre washers???

i think i had the spring things, then the black end cover things but i cant remember if i put the extra metal washer on or not before the nut TBH im sure i was having difficulty gettin them on??? maybe that could be it? or its loose?

no there are a few small fibre washers for each side (non metalic)

to stop rattles

mmmm think im missing them then! do they go......1 before the black end cap thing and 1 before the nut?

they go inside the pipe between the manifold and the cat
