Car is direct from the insurance company, CAT D, no checks needed to put back on the road, light damage vehicle"

the catagories are decided on the damage not the cost of repair.

cat d is mainly a cosmetic repair that can be fixed with bolt on parts and new panels.

cat c needs an inspection from vosa before being allowed back on the road, i'm suprised thats not a cat c with the rear suspension leg completly ripped off

it was apparently lightly damaged - i saw some pic's on v6clio too which back this up but it's been abused more at the salvage yard. shame as it is such a rare spec

lol 6k.

Reminds me of the ferrari F40 which was on here a while back which was literally, burnt to a crisp with NOTHING reminiscent of a car left, which was going for £50k as it still had the original chassis number..

looking on pistonheads there are sooooo many catd/c examples. So many have stacked it.

Is this down to the car?

Is the V6 snatchy? bit of a handfull? I would imagine it would be
Mainly down to the cost of the parts, the bumpers are somethnig like £1200 +vat un painted, wings are expensive too.

They aren't a handful, some people get a bit over zealous with them & lose control of them. The limit on a vee is lower than most cars, day to day it's fine. To attempt to push one to limit you'd have to be very brave or an idiot really.

yeh he bought it from copart, when it cam in the front bumper was fine. oh and as for it been a D, its based purely on the cost of repair. Cat C VIC check it to make sure you havent stolen an identical one and ringed it, as if the repair cost is so great they assume you would be more likely to do so. clearly in this case in relation to the cars value they don't see that you would be more likely to ring it.
