Standard 182 Wheels on Coilies

I have sportlines on my car at the mo but is not giving the drop i want so im going down the coilover route. I have standard 182 wheels and they seem to sit in the arch a fair bit.

So i ask, can you lovely people post pics up of your car thats been coilovered (preferably on 182 wheels) stating your suspension set up. (coilovers, spacers, camber shims etc)

Thanks, Mark.

Here is mine when it was on standard rims :) This is on Vmaxx, pretty sure it was nearly all the way down at the back, and about halfish on the front? Lol

It was ok tbh mate, obv a bit firmer. But I had Apex springs before and they were, well, firm.

I have lowered it a lot more since then and its now sitting on 15's so it's quite stiff now ha ha.

that is gorgeous! im thinking of going 15's but will wait till my tyres are gone as i just had the done a few weeks back. is this still currently on vmaxx'x?

Yeah still on vmaxx, the back has had the adjusters removed, and the front still has a fair few turns to go lol! 15's are the way forward, I got a set of ok'ish tyres for £120! obv they aren't PE2's but they do for what I need!

15's ftw then! your 1st pic is how i want it at the mo. likesaid i want to go lower but still have road comfort, might do 1 track day a year, plus i got creaking shock so it all makes sense and the vmaxx's tick those boxes for under £500.

Yeah only just noticed that!! Not obvious at first but once you know it jumps out. 15's would solve the problem of course!

are turinis the same width as standard wheels. the pics i see with turinis on coilvers seem to fill out the aches. when looking at mine my wheels are set quite in, hence the reason for this thread lol. wasnt too sure if i need spacers when lowering.

I am not too sure, I think there is a difference between the Trophy and Cup Turini....I think....

  172DD Cup
Turinis have a wider offset of et38.5
Standard are approximately 48. Which basically means the turinis sit approximately 10mm further out in the arch.

^^^ half-right. But you're talking about a 172.

182 Cup rims = ET45
Trophy Turinis = ET45
172 Cup Turinis = ET38.5

sounds like vmax would look the nuts fella, especially if you go for 15's. How about you sell me your tires and go for the 15' pro race wheels with the vmaxx? then get some camber going afterwards.

as said above that ly look amazing. seems a few people are riding on ktecs, but they seem to get a few bad ratings on here. i guess for a budget coilover they cant be bad. nice drop withought being mega low.

Hodgins - your LY is spot on, lovely stance. I would drop mine alittle bit more at the front but it would make where I park at work difficult as the garage has a ramp :(

Cheers for the kind words, i dont ever post pics so its nice to have some feedback

I can see why the ktecs get a bad review, as they are budget as mentioned and they are really soft, which met my criteria spot on, soft for road use and fitted my budget, dont get me wrong id love to have some hi-spec coilies but i just dont have that type of budget compared with other members who do fast road or track and they dnt meet their criteria at all, swings and roundabouts really
