Standard exhaust

Im after a standard exhaust for a 182 2005 reg, my local garages are struggling to find them main dealer only they say and this comes to £890inc VAT and fitting.

Any ideas on where and what the price should be?

I dont mind a better looking one but I dont want any extra sound over standard, its the missis car and shes already fed up with 1.1i saxos trying to race her :nono:

lol have a search im sure there will be some that sound similar to standard, if not just get one second hand unless youve got too much money and want to buy one from renault lol

Sounds about right. Standard exhausts from Renault are stupid money.

Either get a quiet aftermarket one or a 2nd hand standard one

Renault price sounds right to be honest considering an or 182 cat is about £2.5k. Btb do a nice one which isn't ear deafening IIRC.

Nobody makes a O.E sounding 182 system, shame imo as they would sell loads imo, not everybody wants to sound like some barry. Renault systems new are stupid money.

Janspeed are supposed to be one of the quietest stainless systems

sportex is about as close as you'll get to standard sound, the quality is actually quite good too

Can't beat a miltek, Very quite on normal driving and a nice note when giving it the beans.

Go to longlife and get a custom made if you don't want extra sound mate.

I recon for £400 - £600 you could get a full stainless system to suit your needs!

^^^ i have one of those with cat and centre silencer can get annoying sometimes when you are on the motorway! around town etc keep it below 30mph or 3000rpm you can't hear it

tbh i would get in that scorpion exhaust group buy absolute bargain for £299 and put the rest back in your pocket

Can you remember how it compairs to the standard, looking at the Db's there doesnt seem much in it

missfire on the day still run 160.8bhp at the fly and 146 odd at the wheels so not to far out

I think 165 at the wheels is pretty high tbh. i think its normaly around 150- 160bhp at the wheels.

I think I talked to a chap called Nigel when I bought my 172 Renault exhaust off them, he did it a bit cheaper than his ebay price, which was already pretty good. Essentially their a Renault dealer who buy in bulk from Renault Spain/France/Belgium/whoever will do it cheapest and sell on. I got my original Renault exhaust for a much improved price over my local dealer, can't recommend them enough! Its soooo nice a quiet, and gives a better idle than previous after-market rubbish. (Disclaimer: I'm not saying the after-market chaps do a bad job, they simply don't have the budget to spend thousands on CFD and prototype development that Renault did!)

Either buy a second hand standard 182 exhaust, or ring Ktec, a specialist in 1*2's and ask them which exhaust they sell is the nearest to standard sounding.

Plenty of people who have never had a problem with them, and those who have had them replaced under warranty. Personally I don't see the issue there.

why cant they find you a standard one ? Must be a rubbish garage ! I got a full standard 172 exhaust for around £200. I know yours is different but not in excess of £700++ :nono:

Buy one second hand. I've just a good condition one. There's plenty flying around on here second hand.
