Std Head units, What's the Difference ????

  Megane 1.5dci
I have the std “Tuner List” type head unit in my dci Dynamique but have seen a similar unit badged up as “Carbasse” fitted to some sports etc.
I'm looking to improve the audio in my car and have heard that the “Carbasse” units are more powerful and better quality, anyone know what the actual difference is, if it’s a better unit? and is it a straight swapover with the steering controls and cd Changer?

From other posts on here I think the Cabasse is more powerful with something like 4x40W power.

The standard ones are more like 4x15W or thereabouts ;)

How do you know if you've got a cabasse one ?? I guess it just says that on it ? What cars did they come on ?

I think Cabbasse are the Update List H/U's as fitted to 05> 182's :)

These will not work with >05 Clios due to the different wiring specification.

Ive got a tuner list running with infinity 6x9s pioneer rears and the decent vibe fronts, its very very loud and great quality(so loud that your ears hurt), not far off my old setup in my old car, alpine head unit, 6 vibes speakers and kenwood amp...

Its gotta be more than 15w....

Sounds about right - I was gonna upgrade the speakers but it may be better to get a better head unit first.

Don't wanna sound too old here, but I remember when tapes were the only options in cars... I still have my old pioneer component radio cassette system in the garage, it's probably worth something now...
